I hope it didn't cost much. If it is a labby, $50 would be reasonable for one at that power back then.

I paid 250 for it, yea, that price indicated it wasn't 1 watt too, but I was a complete noob.
Here's another ebay scammer, I'm sure of it. No way for 16 dollars will you get a 1 watt 405 nm laser head. When I see a newbie post on a product like this I often find myself questioning whether a real newbie, or the seller starting a thread here trying to drive business to his ebay link. I can question all I want, I suppose.... doesn't make it so.
1000mW 405nm Engraving Machine Cutter Engraver Laser Head With Violet Light US | eBay
I'd believe 500 mw for something like that, for that use, but 1000 mw? Even the "16 X" 405 nm laser diode is being pushed hard at 900 mw and will die, in time. For a reliable cutting laser diode source (with what is avail now) you could never use it at 1000 mw and 100 mw seems a bit weak to me. Of course, power density is where it's at, I still wouldn't be interested in a 100 mw 405 nm cutter.
Edit: I think you meant 1000 mw, but wrote 100 mw in your post.
Looks like that Laser is no longer listedThis is likely exaggerated @ 1.7w and no way is it TEM00
