Uh..... He side stepped my question completely with this response:

So he did. He is far too eager for the sale. Despite making it clear that you know he's lying, he's still trying to proceed. :wtf:

I thought Ebay will not allow stated high output hand held lasers over 5mW in compliance iwth US Law/FDA regulations or Ebay will take down the listing.

If that is still so just report these listings for that and that they are misrepresentations in addition--no?

Pretty clearly the guy in MI is doing illegal sales from within USA to within USA

"If you buy it I can tell you details"

That's like going to buy a car and the car salesman says "I can't really tell you much about it until you buy it, as you can see, it's a green Corolla. Does about 700bhp. If you buy it I can tell you more details."

Yea, if his ebay sale is reported, they might remove it.

I reported the 1.7W laser as "Prohibited and restricted items"
It is slightly over the max 5mW that eBay allows for hand
held Lasers IIRC.

I wouldn't worry to be honest. I believe the laser output that you would receive would be under 5mW. Because it would be 0mW!

Risky business selling completed high power lasers to anyone, at least, in the US, they could own you if harmed by it, and I suppose, could be in the loop of someone else is harmed by it too. If I were reckless enough to list a high power laser on ebay, I'd never put the power output, just give the laser diode used in it.

This is why DTR sells parts and add disclaimers to his auctions. Also people like Rick Trent sells them as kits. Complete lasers are very risky indeed.

Seems like there are more of these scammers around on eBay than there used to be. I can see uninformed customers falling for this overpriced junk. And, unless they have an LPM they will never know how badly they were scammed.

There sure are. :(
The problem is, as long as it burns then it is the right power and wavelength for most. They really won't care to check. Just look at those 5000mW 532's.
It is only because we have some knowledge on the matter that we can pull people up on their lies and see the scam.

Five years ago, when new to lasers, I was eyeing a listing on Aliexpress (the biggest China laser scammers site) for a 10 watt 532 nm pointer! Ignorant that 10 watts of green isn't available in a pointer.
