Hi
Bought a few 20mm modules from Jordan, I wanted to use one for a 9mm build in a small stainless Explorer host I had, very similar in size and looks as the Tank007 blueray burner I did a while back,
I did some work on my lathe and mill to bring the module down to size so it can fit with the driver,
The brass pill was very well built in this torch, and I damaged it getting it open but that was ok since it was to long anyway and I splitt it in the middle and used just one side of it,
This torch is very bright and gets warm fast and it had five modes and the strobe mode was the fastest strobe I have seen, it was a shame to dismantle it I think it was $40 on eBay,
I worked the back lip of the copper module down also as I hate how the modules stay opened about 2mm when you have a diode in, it's still flush touching the rear of the diode and only a tiny gap noticeable, every millimetre makes a difference in this tiny build,
I thermal pasted the 1.8a driver to the brass pill witch just fit nicely,

I was going to polish the copper face but forgot and now it's not possibly,

It gets warm fast and my LPM shows just over 2w with a cheap 14500 bat and a G2 lens, this is a great short burst burner, I love these 9mm diodes, I had a NDB7675 also and now I wish I had used that diode.

It's not for sale as I just like to build for my collection, but I am very curious what someone would pay for this particular build honestly!

I would love people's opinion!

Amazing how many comments I got on this hey, I post my builds to show its not difficult and maybe encourage someone to try, I don't think I've seen a smaller 9mm build, anyway I love building but I might stop posting and just keep all these awsome builds to myself, it seems no ones interested anymore.

Hi BBB,
Hey i feel the same when i post a build some time to , it seems that folks are more interested in illl those Chinese lasers for high prices or the real cheap ones. And you know they are using the cheapest components going, and glue them together . At least we know what goes into our builds and know they will last with the right treatment.
But don't give up posting your builds i enjoy all of them buddy. If no one looks at the builds thats their loss, i don't buy Chinese lasers at all i like to build my own like you.
Nice EDC it's small and powerful great work..

Rich:)

No No BBB, keep posting and the more in progress pic's the better. I might not always reply but to all like Pman, Lifetime, Bowtie and who ever I might of missed who post many pic's I "always" go back to look. They all come in handy believe me. I'm sure i'm not the only one:)

That's a nice SS build bbb, although I'm partial to anything SS or Ti. Don't stop posting these builds, there are some of us who like to read the custom build threads.
They're interesting and can be enlightening; there is always something that someone is doing to their own build that makes you say oh yeah, I never thought of doing it like that.

I do know what you're saying though, about the lack of responses to these type of threads, it gets to be a little disheartening doing all the work and posting it only to struggle to get a half dozen responses, while the "I want the best 5W green laser for less than $20" thread gets five pages of responses. :yabbmad:

So to everyone, keep building and posting your unique work!

Nice build dude. I like it much more than the tank007 myself. The beefier look is much better.

Hi Bow tie.
That's the way it is they want everything handed to them and spoon fed instead of researching the forum for useful information. Personally I like the build threads better than reading about all these Cool looking Chinese lasers with who knows what's in them . There's nothing better that checking out how we come to different way to mod and build. Basically it's an art in a way. Some just throw stuff together any old way and wonder why it doesn't perform the way it should Rich:)

Yup, I'm going to jump on this too. Don't stop, those are my favorites!

Seriously, I like to read about how people solve problems, not how people are bringing unsolvable problems to the table...
