Nature Shots

Cool, now I just need to get the software and figure out how to perfectly align my pictures since I don't use a tripod. Such software ought to stack star pictures too. I'm almost done building my new ring light which should put out 3-5x more light, and fit inside the old one for even more light, so the shutter speed stays up at high magnification. Then I'll be able to use my 28mm lens with my new 30x zoom camera if I don't run into too much distortion. I think that means I can get about 25x magnification of what something looks like 1-2" away.

That's what sucks about microscopes. You need the whole range of depth to see what you need to, but can't get it. Even 100x has a pretty slim depth. One would think the tech exists to have a camera take several pics over a range of focus, then process it into one pic showing the whole range at once. I know you can change the focus of one picture afterward, but you can't keep the whole range in focus at the same time with today's cameras. I think they should give cameras the ability to bring the aperture down to the 64-128 range for up close stuff. There's room left to do that, but there could be issues with the light bending.

We have inspection 'scopes at work that will take an image every few microns of Z height and digitally assemble them into a single picture with DOF of....hundreds of microns if desired. A poor man's confocal microscope.

As far as having macro lenses that stop down to F64 or higher, there's a trade off. You gain DOF with higher F-stops but you lose contrast due to refraction of light around the aperture vanes.

It's a over 300 meter high radio tower, seen as here too:

Where is the red shading coming from? I really like that cherry red color.

That is the 3D printed case for the RGB Optlaser and drivers. It is likely fluorescing or could be from light escaping inside that is tinted that color from the material used to print the case.

Went flying with my drone early yesterday morning.
Hope you enjoy nature as much as I do.

:D

One word for that pic Andrew. Wow!
That is a beautiful picture.

I've been using an old but wonderful Casio for macro shots with a Raynox lens. Surprisingly reasonable results imo

I've been filming at 600 frames per second with the macro lens in manual focus and it has produced a good video of flight, take off and landing. I do like bees rather a lot.

Damnit. Sorry. I thought I'd fixed that. Others can see them currently? If you go to your browser extensions in chrome or add ons in firefox... search for "photobucket fix" and the addon is there to stop that. I'll be moving to another site soon I think as they are a huge pain in my a**e.

I’m on my phone atm so can’t. Moving to a new site is a good idea for definite. :)

The Chrome add on works great:

Great focus depth too, are these stacked from video frames?

So far I'm having a very hard time holding my hands steady with the 28mm lens. My shaking plus the wind shaking flowers along with the super shallow focus depth is making it not worth using except as a microscope in very stable conditions. But at least my new light is cranking out blinding amounts of light, 400lm at around half power.

Thanks for the tip for adding the extension Aardvark. Works great indeed.
Also great pics.
