Nature Shots

I get the opposite here: either a humidity or overheat warning/shutdown.

EDIT:

What's the yellow pole in the first pic, top right?

It's a over 300 meter high radio tower, seen as here too:

Love your landscape, Tero. The cold.......you can keep it. It got down to 24 degrees F here last night. Very unusual for Western Washington this time of year. Brrr!

I don't know how videos work on here, I tried making a GIF, but they don't work out right on my editor.
Hmmm. I was hoping to get something to play in the window, not just a download.

I'll try that next time. I was hoping my original 10 pictures (19 frames) would make a good quality small GIF, but going off my video really zapped the quality down, and even added a weird cluster of red dots in one place

EDIT:

The depth of focus sucks unfortunately because I'd like a bit more, and Upping the aperture gets you like a 20% increase even if you way more than double it, and a 80% decrease in light. I'm guesstimating on those percentages, but that's what it seems like comparing pictures.

Anyway you can see the large plant cells in these pictures. When not using a tripod, I use a 10 shot 10fps burst while moving the camera toward or away, then pick out the in focus ones. Otherwise even steady hands are way too shaky to stay in focus for just one shot.

It was a snowy morning here, we tend to not get much, but this winter has had about 3 snowings, way more than most winters.

I wish I had some good PCB heatsink ring things to mount some new high powered SMD LEDs on for more light. I still haven't figured out what to do about that.

Beautiful photos, Nutball! I love beam shots, but live for nature. A well deserved +Rep. :D Take Care.

Now I just need a tiny beam to shine through snowflakes. Maybe brucemir should use snowflake designs as inspiration for prisms for his laser art if he can find someone who would make such complex prisms.

Peach tree and a weed...

You do these macro shots with your phone's camera, Nutball? Pretty good for one that doesn't have all the lenses that a DSLR does.

I use a little pocket PNS camera with 2" macro focus, and 10x zoom. The last picture was the camera alone w/ minimum zoom, but usually I use a 50mm prime lens reversed as a macro coupler with LEDs to keep the shutter speed up, so I can keep the ISO to a minimum for better quality. 18 Megapixels helps me zoom in farther afterwards. Also in that last post I used a 135mm lens. I have a 28mm one too for super zoom, but I need way more light to use it because the internal aperture is so tiny, all 10x zoom of my camera barely reaches through it.

EDIT: I also take a 10fps burst shot while moving slightly to vary the focus, then pic out the properly focused one.
