Nature Shots

Oh man that's a nice shot ^---^

Thanks Arcticdude! Keen to see more of yours

Hey, Will. Nice to see you again. You post far too infrequently. Glad to hear you are now into photography. I'm still into lasers and getting, measuring, and defining new laser diode wavelengths.

Haha, yeah it's been awhile since I last posted...

Life gets in the way and you develop different interests and incur additional expenses :cryyy:

I've still got a heap of laser gear that I'm looking to sell soon, Sinner MS-SSW, Eghemus powder-coated host, Jetlaser Ti-B host and some gold and silver leadlights. It's sad that I haven't got around to using or enjoying any of it, but I'm sure someone else will eventually!

Glad to hear you're still experimenting Paul! I've got a bit of catching up to do but will look through all the tests and experiments you've done

Those are some beautiful photos, Will!
Glad to see you posting again, it's always a treat to see your new pics. :yh:

Sorry to see that you're selling your laser collection, but someone is going to get some nice lasers!

Let me know when you plan on selling some pen hosts. I usually stay away from them as the heat sinking is nonexistent. But I have a special diode and some low current drivers on the way, so I am now interested. :thanks:

BTW, + Rep.

Great pics Will. Editing is the part I like least. I'm always second guessing myself, and there's so many acceptable outcomes. Sometimes I see others' pics that look great, and I think why can't I do that? Because I feel bad if I crank the saturation to unreal amounts. Usually I aim for what looks real with a touch of boldness. I find it best to make a few adjustments, then look away for a few minutes, and see what my initial reaction is when I see it again.

Not my best, but here's a spider:

This is probably the first one I didn't do any editing on except the usual wee bit of sharpening and noise reduction.

And the ant in one of my earlier pictures was alive, the rest of the bugs appeared dead.

Some old pics of mine in the random thread and not this thread.

Wonderful Bug Shots, Nutball! It’s so nice to see optics being used to visualize Creepy Crawlies, instead of vaporizing them. +Reps! :kewlpics:

Have you tried focus stacking?! Especially with a dead spider or insect it would be much easier to get multiple shots at different focus in order to blend them together

When I have time. I'm still researching the editors and stacking program I want based on ability and cost. I need to save up as I'm starting to do a lot of buying right now; power tools and other hobby stuff. And I thought that spider was cool, I was just saying it is literally crumby.

This particular kind of flower doesn't look that good in a picture.

That's a great photo of the germinating seed. You can see an almost fully developed plant that hasn't yet been released to the environment. What plant was that taken from?

I think it's a fern roll, that's how they put out new leafs/branches, but its been a while since I took that one.

Nice shots, AD, spring is definitely in the air; the snow is melting and the rivers are high, just don't sit on that ant hill!

My first thought was also anthill, but it is? It's hard to tell if those are ants or fungus. The one looks like fungus, but the other??? Good pictures though

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure .... I'll stick with ants, it sounds good. ;)
