Nature Shots

I grew up for a time in northern Illinois. Have seen many a mornings where you go outside and you get snow blinded. There’s so much snow, it’s so bright it can be stunning. Don’t miss the cold but I do miss the beauty sometimes. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. And great pics. :gj:

I have lived in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. It gets to -45 dgrees F and the snow doesn't completely melt until April. All the water ways, rivers, ect. freeze over and it hurts to breath it is so cold. Don't mind looking at it now, but would hate to have to deal with it again. Love your photos, Tero. But, that's as close as I want to get. ;)

I think I see a couple bad pixels in there, you might be able to manually fix them in your camera settings.

I wish I had a better camera. I'm often amazed at what it can do, but its only a 1/2.3" sensor without manual settings. Here's some of a grub, moss, fungus, pine needles, a 4" wide chunk of bark... Nature macro is my favorite as well as stars, but I don't have a good enough camera for that. The best picture of Jupiter I got was a white dot with four 1 pixel wide moons.

Than's what I thought at first, but they usually appear as a distinct shade of purple or red, and sometimes white. See the purple pixel I point out. I used a Canon 6D once for night shots and got several purple pixels and a few reds mixed in both the stars and the completely dark tree line. Those things bug me when they stand out in a great picture.

EDIT: It looks like there was a quality issue with my copy of your picture, but you know the location to check in your full size version.

Second EDIT: My camera and macro "coupling" lens. The LED rings make shots something like 2-5 times faster, I forget, not as fast as I'd like for semi free hand use.

I guess I'm so often impressed by my little camera because I never expect much from it. Anyway, it's that time of year again when the lawn is mounding with wildflower weeds. They're pretty boring as tiny as they are, but as always nature's pretty cool, and hairy, up close.

Take away the cold, and a snowy evergreen forest at night is one of my favorite places. I was up tonight too taking pics, none will probably make it here as I was using a >10yr old 6MP camera
