Hey everyone this is my first laser build ever. It sucks so much compared to everyone else builds i have seen. But meh whatever :na:

THE WORD GAY IN THE POLL IS NOT INTENDED TO OFFEND ANYONE, sorry
Firstly this is just a temporary host until i get my host from lazeerer.
This is a PHR-805 diode running at 96ma- should produce ~65mw?
This is a custom driver made by Nocturnal.
Its really easy to make but i broke the end of my solder.:shhh:
It runs on 2 CR123A's
The host is a pen case.:)
Ive also attached a clicky switch to the case.
I didnt have any small heatshrink available so i used tape:eg:
And yes recharging the batterys are really hard, i have to undo all the tape. :(

Just going to put it out there... You may want to refrain from using Gay in a negative connotation, homosexuals and other people find it offensive (as do I) when gay, queer, or homo is used in a negative connotation.

I don't want you to take this is wrong way, just putting it out there.

I had a friend who was gay in highschool, and he found it VERY hard to get through everything, he was going to kill himself at several points. Especially when the very thing he was is always being used in a negative way.

Again, I don't want to come out the wrong way, though I have a feeling it will be perceived as me trolling/being a jerk.

Ya you better switch that. A lot of people can take it the wrong way.

on topic if u got it to lase its a accomplishment in my book
 
Just change it to 'totally girly' and all is well :D

As for the laser itself: for a very first build, its fine - i guess most people make their first experimental laser in a similar way. Dont run it too long though, this construction will cause the diode to overheat rapidly.

Don't worry about it, people make mistakes, was just pointing it our that some people may take offence.

If you edit the OP i'm sure no one will have any hard feelings.
 
Since you guys look like your through with your rainbow hug, i will answer the original question.
Everybodys gotta start somewhere.
 
somehow everyone grew giant vaginas and became sensitive in the last decade...

anyways, don't beat yourself up on the cosmetics of your build. the first build is all about just getting it to work. Everyone has made their ugly builds, like the altoids can or a ketchup bottle
