My Rainbow -- Post Pic's of Yours

Beam visibility increased with Nag Champa incense...

I was really impressed with the Nag Champa incense ability to show the beam but... my son isn't (it was his room; I picked it as it's small) and it STILL smells of it :tsk:.

So, I got a fog machine... so this is my new attempt to do a rainbow (with the limited wavelengths I have).

Lasers used (all cheap pens):
405nm ~25mW
445nm ~10mW
532nm ~5mW
650nm ~3mW

Dots:

Beams, 405nm hard to see:

Beams, 405nm easier to see but now 445nm is over exposed:

There, I finally got around to taking some pictures of my rainbow.

The higher power ones are a bit washed out, but other than that the colors are pretty accurate.

The wavelengths are listed in my signature, all of them except the GreNe are included in the pics.

That's a really nice shot. Can't REP you again yet:( I always wonder with pics loaded with units how often someone blows a diode or driver from exceeding the on cycle but I don't remember anyone reporting it happening. Must take quite some time to set some of these shots up and I apreciate you guys doing this. I really need to make a more serious effort with beam shots.
I can just barely see that 980nm;)

Thanks! The argon is the worst, it puts out so much heat at that level, I barely keep it cool.
However the 462nm is close behind it, I only kept it on for 3 min to get these shots but when I went to turn it off it was hot to the touch, I was real lucky that I didn't burn it out

I knew I left something out, the one on the end is the 685nm. The 980nm is completely invisible to my eye and I can just barely pick up the dot on my camera. So it's not included in the rainbow. :san:

My quick and cheesy attempt at a rainbow.

From left to right 650nm ---?mW 520nm---200mW 450nm---100mW 405nm---900Mw

I guess I have to resize the picture before I put it on FB next time. My apology for the size.

I still am in process to make my rainbow but i must admire your skills of making rainbow with such limited resources. And i wonder if somehow you access the huge resources you will boom for sure.

Heres a partial rainbow. My only 445nm is 2W so it would have drowned out everything else.
638nm, 589nm, 561nm, 405nm

Just playing with the camera, rotational movement, there's only 405,660,532 yet yellow and pink can be seen on the left. One day we will have a rgb diode with rgb emitters arranged in a tiny triangle inside the diode or mounted on a triangle waveguide rod, that will be cool.
