When I tried to get full power output using a NUBM44 laser diode, I couldn't get the driver to push it hard enough with extra long wires leading to the diode like that, had too much voltage drop or something, until I shortened them. Have you put a LPM on the output to know how much power it is producing?

Trinh, I do have to say you do some fine looking work! Enjoy that puppie and don't burn the neighbors cat. :)

Edit, I noticed you didn't shrink tube the wires to the diode? Just something you hadn't done yet?

just curious. :)

I love that host so much he is going to build another one for me, but bigger, of course. I like a larger diameter head and even better, two 26650 batteries instead of the 18650's.

It looks good, and if that head was 1.5 inches longer with a shelf in front of the module that could be covered by a slip over, then you could set a cylindrical pair in front of the G2 to make a nice beam out of that NUBM44.

Great looking laser--nice work.

Be sure and always wear laser goggles with that one--very dangerous for eyes--be cares around other people if present when running it as well.

Beautiful build, be careful with those; just the refraction off of paper, walls etc it's powerful enough to damage your vision. Best to use laser safety goggles at all times unless you are outside and even then be extremely careful. You only get one pair of seeing balls.

Hi,
Yes these are powerful diodes but i love building them into larger hosts. Safety is top and being careful . thats an awesome build enjoy..

Please put some heat shrink tubing over the diode pins! Other than that you've got a nice host there!
