Here my second 445 pointer build. This time custom finished to match the wavelength.

Custom made 317 driver set to 300ma. Guesstimated output 125-175mw. Power source 2x 10440's

Currently the indicator hole does not light up. I'm working on that.
It will either be a indicator or a second button for dual laser power selection. Turbo button :D

Very nice! I plan to build one of these in a few months (after I get some more practice)

Nice build; and at a fairly reasonable power for a pen. What's the duty cycle on it?

Beautiful host/build you have there! :gj:

If I may ask, where on earth did you manage to get a blue pen like that? Did you have a standard leadlight custom painted?

Thanks everyone.

I use 1 min on, 1 min off duty cycle. It does get pretty warm after a few mins of use.

Yes, its a custom painted leadlight type host.

a lot of work for very bad actual laser beam pictures...: (
can you get some good ones?

It's not very polite to come into someone else's Thread and complain.:(

I wasn't really trying to be polite, I was just trying to point out a flaw that I think the OP would like to notice.

Don't get me wrong it looks like a sick laser, I wouldn't even be able to build something like that,
but....
usually side shots or night shots or shots from behind the laser show what the beam looks like better than a beam to the lens.
or else it just looks like a small globe..
: )

Well the thread was mostly about the host. There are a ton of 445 beam shots around here from every angle and every distance.

Those first few pics are closeups of the dot actually and not beam shots.

But since you requested, here are some beam shots. Its never a dull moment with lasers and smoke :D

That came out really Nice. I like the paint on the pen nice and shiny. Was it expensive?

:gj:

Do you mind telling how you got the paint so perfect? What kind of paint was used and how was it applied??

Thanx Lazeerer. I am very pleased with it.

Oh man I don't remember. It was around 10 bucks or so for a can. So I would say not expensive. I got it in July. I was testing the paint out on scrap pipes n whatnot to see how it comes out. Just got the host this week.

Thanks for the info. You did a hell of a nice job on the paint it looks very clean and professional like it came that way.:)
