Not bad! What's the wattage on that pot though? And how much current do you plan on passing through the LM317?
 
According to my math, the power dissipated by the pot reaches a maximum of 39mW when set at 10Ω. It falls on either side of that setting.

Even the smallest of pots are usually rated for 100mW.

That's totally the style of driver I used to love putting together. Mucho respect for the creativity :)

I can already see it - you're going to have a lot of fun once someone convinces you to grab a copy of Eagle and start making PCBs ;)
 
lol...thx guys ....i really enjoy doin work like this ...takes me back to building tiny FM transmitters & flashing ariels for cellphones ...the driver sits perfectly into the pill i have ...i will mount the 317 down to it .

Now that's a nice small package :). I'm going to try and do something like this for my next lm317.
 
thx ...the input pin for the 317 is perfect to press against the pill for case + build , i`ll machine a small groove for it to sit in .
