IMO if you get a blue laser then you should get a 100mw blue labby. They cost about as much as the blue RPL and you get 3-4 times more output. The blue RPL is basically just for pointing. The duty cycle and low output prevent its use in scanners or burning. If you want a blue laser just for pointing at stuff then the blue RPL still isn't ideal. The Spartan BP from dragonlasers and the laserglow Aquarius are both smaller and they don't have annoying keyswitches etc.

Also if you get a 100mw 473nm labby you can use it to make a sweet RGB scanner.

I have a blue RPL30 myself and while it isn't bad or anything it doesn't get used much. Other than pointing it out the window during a blizzard there isn't much to do with it. Blue lasers look awesome in the snow. You get a brilliant sparkling sapphire beam.

my situation is like everyone elses around i guess since 9-11-01 its been hard to save up funds all my money goes for bills -but i take that bonus that I get and get me a little sumptin  ;D ;D ;D-**k a year =bills kids- mortagage cars-401-k-
1,000-2,000 depends on bonus size =me lasers my hobby

now if i didnt have a good paying job i'd be in trouble big time

trying to get things ready for my daughter now shes going to college in bakersfield-merced or fresno still checking em out

I work 60 hours+ a week i need a little reward please more people check the buy a laser box so i'll think its ok  

you gotta go by priority which means family - bills - laser.

maybe you should start selling laser crap too? maybe make some money off your hobby

Ok looks like i am not going to buy a ridiculously expensive handheld or labby i will purchase a few sleds a couple hosts then if for some reason i'm looking around and find a great deal somewhere I may pick it up
but I really appreciate all you guys giving me input - looks like i was going spend crazy again - I enjoy making me a bluray here and there its not a blue but is the 20x cost of 68 more nm worth it I think not looks like RKCSTR for drivers and Glenn for sleds oh and Kendal hightechdealz for the other DYI things ,thats who will be getting part of my bonus instead of opto or cni  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
