Most expensive laser you have ever bought?

For me it would be my newest Laser: a 13W RF excited CO2!
Well, for what it is I got it quite cheap, actually (about 300$ including shipping). Beautiful thing!:D

Mine would be for the Laserbtb HL520, 520nm 52mW (review). Total including shipping was $111 (£74), laser was $82 (£54).

I get the feeling that once I get fed up with ebay pens that I will have to spend much more for the next laser. I'm trying very hard to ignore yellow lasers!

A HGM5 (multi-line medical argon laser - up to 4W for 30 seconds), a 1W DPSS green, a 250mW DPSS blue, and a 60W CO2 laser, each somewhere between $1400 and 1600. The priciest pointer would be a 350mW RPL (dpss green) for ~800.

Each of the above is a lot cheaper these days, of course!

My used to own 457nm DPSS , 250mW , Cost 700 USD .

So far, the most expensive laser that I've purchased is my 80mW CNI PGL-III-C 589nm (154mW).

My most expensive is my CNI 532nm 500mw. Cost $250.
Looks like a drop in the bucket compared to a lot here:)

Laserglow - 200 mW Aries series 532nm handheld ~ $600 new

I just realized that I might have a more expensive one than the 1.5W 520nm.
A VERY good friend of mine LZB (Lazerbeak) purchased one of Jayrobs special Star Trek Phasers with all the upgrades for me as a thank you and I think with the the DTR module it costs more than the 520nm. Always forget about that one as I keep it in its own case. Means more to me than everything else combined not because it was free but the back story behind it.

This is embarrassing.
My first and original 5mW red laser pointer, back in the 1980's, I had to be the first to have one. When they first became available they were well over $599. It still runs on some weird camera battery and I will never take the loss on ever selling it. :)

In all it's +30year old 5mW's of glory!

You should post a photo!

Mine would be the CNI 556nm (which was really 561). Although I think I have exceeded that on costs of building the Photino RGB.

It's funny - I was just contemplating this last night ... I've been completely out of lasers for a few years now (career change, family deaths, etc) so Imagine my surprise when a buddy at an astrology club called and asked if I could still get decent, cheap handhelds. I figured O-like had always been good to me so I ordered a bunch for them, and couldn't believe how powers have gone up and prices down over just a few years !!! My Hercules 400 cost me the better part of a grand back in the day, and even my first 12X PHR build came in at over $300 ... Anyhow, intrigue has brought me back to LPF and I've dug out and polished up the old LaserBee, looks like I'm going to back to playing with Photons for awhile! :)

Would definitely have to be my 1.3W 520nm Lightsaber in my sig. All totaled around $750 in parts to build. But I love it!!

Though if I have my way my build after the present one I'm working on could beat it (though it'll be two lasers in one large unique host)!

I currently have about 200 into my first build, it isn't together yet so I'm not sure if it counts!
