As you know I was the winner of the Free Hotlight Kit Giveaway!.
After 10 days of shipping I got the host. It is a very nice host with a side clicky. With so much spare parts lying around the desk I thought lets make a 445nm laser. This host begs for a highpower laser :D

The disassembled host with all the ingredients.

I sand away the anodizing top for better electrical connection

Then I cut the pill to make room for the microflex and the wires

My treasure box :D

The Italian 100Lire makes a prefect match with the host

All wires connected. I use all the pins of the 445nm diode. The diode case pin is the battery negative.
I should use the coin as battery negative for better electrical connection but because the driver is already bonded with the coin I can't solder the coin anymore.

Voila one completed 445nm Hotlight

I set the driver at the max which is 1350mA. Somehow the driver won't deliver the 1.5A current.

More beamshot. My Canon 7D camera shows the beam voilet but in reality the color is pure blue.

Thanks Moh and DTR for the host and the battery.

Very nice build! I have the same problem with my Canon T2i (EOS 550). Still trying to get the blue to show up as in real life.

Amazing host IMO. What battery size is that btw, and where you got it? ;)

Yeah, the battery was donated by DTR for the giveaway.
I'm glad the kit was put to good use :)
