Re: 445nm "sled" pics

That does not look multimode to me!

I just tried it for the hell of it, but my 635nm has a wider stripe than that at 5 feet.

Re: 445nm "sled" pics

Oh baby!! Thank you Sypder, I cannot wait to get mine now! These diodes are looking more manageable with every new bit of info. This profile of the raw output really helps. THANKS!!!

Re: 445nm "sled" pics

Here's some sweet pics from drlava's website:

He said over on PL that his examples have a divergence under 2.5mrad with a single simple collimating lens, nothing fancy.

Re: 445nm "sled" pics

This is epic! I'm gonna order a whole damn projector soon. I cant wait to get my group buy diode to play around with!

The awesome thing is there are probably going to be quite a few getting tested to the limits since they come so many to a group. We should know exactly what to run these at really soon. Can't wait to see the LPM results!

There is no way those are multimode!!

Re: 445nm "sled" pics

The lobes on the sides of the main spot are what makes it multimode..

Re: 445nm "sled" pics

I am planning on raising the current and maybe make this a sacrificial diode.

I am about to go outside and see the beam in the sky.

Re: 445nm "sled" pics

They actually have quite a nice looking spot, for sure. Nothing like most of the multimode reds I've seen. Very impressive!

Re: 445nm "sled" pics

Last update for tonight , I put together a coleman max running off one 14500 , raised it to 550mA.

Added an outside beamshot

One thing is that im hoping the lens that came with it will correct some of the multimode-ness. you can see it when focused at a distance , but not that much.

Re: 445nm "sled" pics

Oh and before anyone asks YES it burns bigtime.

it is multimode, but when you focus it , its not as long as lets say an 808nm diodes output. It's reasonable, this is with an aixiz acrylic and a 405g-1. mA to mw seem to be 1:1.

More pics , hopefully better ones soon.

Hey when you said 'an AixiZ acrylic and a 405-G-1', what exactly did you mean?

Your not using both lenses 'stacked' are you?

Re: 445nm "sled" pics

No, i used one then the other.

I hope you can mount the "stock" lens when you get yours Jayrob, and display the differences.

Also this wavelength doesnt burn white as well as a bluray, but it does burn very well.

Re: 445nm "sled" pics

Thank you , its fun and informative, testing new diodes. Kind of a small rush :)
