So does anyone have a breakdown of all the goodies in this sled? The magnets will be useful, but I'm interested in the optics and stuff too.

I have just dissembled one.
There is a partially transparent mirror for each of the two diodes, a lens to focus them on another mirror, it angles the beam onto another lens suspended between two magnets.

The IR diode have a small lens glued onto the heatsink, it looks like a half-cylinder lens, likely to turn it from bar to dot.

The red diode is facing a tiny lens mounted in the sled.

The laser detector hiding behind the semitransparent mirrors have it's own tiny lens.

None of it appear to be of any use in a pointer.


I just cobbled together a driver adjustable from 100-500mA.
I assume the diode can handle up to 500mA safely with good heatsinking?

Safe operating current: ~350mA
Enthusiast operating current: ~420mA
Maximum operating current: ~500mA
Average output power: ~250mW

Hope this is some help as its what I'm setting mine up to. I'm shooting for an LM317 @ 420ma.

just to let you guys know i am looking into this, i am trying to get a large order one for personal use and other for gb or website sales.
There will be a thread and more info once i can get something set more in stone.
i would like to do this not just for LPC-815 but also their SF-AW210 , PHR-803T, GGW-H20L
i am going to try to get around 500 units total they will be a mix of the ones listed above.
what does not get taken by the gb will be set into a store at a slightly higher rate so we dont need all 500 taken.
