Many questions about first 9mm 445nm build!

Re: New 9mm 445 diodes

True, heat sinks are a bit of a guessing game. It can be reasonably defined though, check the case temperature on the data sheet and check the temps of the heat sink, the time it takes for the heat sink to near the case temp is your duty cycle.

That's true assuming you desire to stick to the spec sheet. Our currents alone double and triple spec :P

Re: New 9mm 445 diodes

Hi guys!

Really bad news!

So back to plan A!!!

I`m giong nuts!

I thought I suggested not over thinking everything a few pages ago.

Just build your unit and use it for a while. If you find something latter that you want to do or you think is lacking there is always the the option of upgrading/rebuilding it. I see this quite often where people get input overload and end up going ten directions at once. This can be costly and consume a lot of time not to mention drive you insane.:banghead:

Just build it with what you got. You can always change something later.

Re: New 9mm 445 diodes

Lol good point. Watch your duty cycle and it will be fine.

Re: New 9mm 445 diodes

Hi!

DTR, I agree with every single word!

But maybe I`m a a little bit wiser now. :D

I`m thinking of opening a new thread and have a MOD or Admin move this whole discussionround there!

All this has drifted far away from topic of this thread!

Cheers brunes01

Re: Help for my first build! (brunes01)

Umm....you haven't actually posted anything....

What did you need help with?

Re: Help for my first build! (brunes01)

Hi!

There is a whole discussion going on in the 9mm 445nm thread and so I have sent PM to a Mod to move it to this thread!

Cheers brunes01

Re: New 9mm 445 diodes

Actually our conversations have been revolving around the 9mm diode fairly well. Our topic has stayed better than most threads lol.

BTW, I'm upgrading my bench laser to a new 9mm in the hopes of getting 4W at about 3A.

Re: New 9mm 445 diodes

Hi!

I opened another thread and PMed daguin if he could move the discussion there!

Let`s see if something is moved or not.

4W would be awesome!

If I will ever feel I would need longer duty cycles as in the SL SS host will be possible, I think I will go also for a bench/labby laser!

Bench lasers are so cool when you can strategically place mirrors and bounce a beam around the house. At night its straight up amazing.

Re: New 9mm 445 diodes

That definitly sounds very cool!

BTW, I just visited track &confirm with the number I got when the host was shipped and it seems at last it hasbeen registered at L.A.! 5 days ago!

I hope the thing will make through all customs! :yabbem:

Re: New 9mm 445 diodes

Its very normal for there to be a delay in updates during transit between countries and after the destination country receives it and it travels through customs. I have seen this delay last as long as 15 days, especially when coming from Hong Kong.

Re: New 9mm 445 diodes

Probably your right!

And there are no restrictions for hosts or laser saftey goggles as far as I know! :p

I had some concerns about the diode itself to be honest.

Re: New 9mm 445 diodes

I could not imagine any of the parts being taken. I'd bet they could even get into Australia as they are.

Re: Help for my first build! (brunes01)

HI!

So it`s moved! Thanks daguin.

I hope all of you will continue to offer your help here!

Cheers brunes01
