MAGIC and IRON4D by rhd - Info and Guide

This hobby just keeps lowering things to the point where if I stretched I could buy all the parts but I would have to forever hide it from family and gf lest they get angry. *sigh

But I will definitely be buying one of these boards, if just to let it sit til I can afford a mitsu diode. So the 1050mA ones are for the mitsu 500mw?

Isaac

I only have 5 of those 500mw Mitsu diodes, very slow selling diodes for me...
I'm going to put them up at my cost on the site now for $75 each plus the normal shipping of $2.99.
Once I pay paypal fees I will actually lose money on these, but I've had them for too long now :p
Please use no discount codes on this one guys if anyone needs one.
Also putting up the remaining 300mw Mits diodes at cost, gotta build up the funds to buy more drivers ;)

I'm assuming the "Magic Board" is a buck board and the "IRON4D" is boost?

Also what current settings will be available with the "Magic Board"?

Just want to ask again...is 1050mA a good current to put the Mitsu 500mW diode on?

Thanks,
Isaac

I was just about to post that I saw them on your site clif :D

Yeah, the magic isn't actually a driver, it just allows you to put the battery in either way and the laser still function. Basically you would have battery > contact board > Magic > driver > diode.

You can run 1050ma in the 300mw diodes. The 500mw can handle at least 2x 700ma board stacked (1400ma).

500mW would be attained through a 3-element lens at about 900mA. At 1.5A I am estimating I get 1W with my 650nm G1. I will know for sure in a couple days when my LPM arrives :D

Almost every 500mW Mitsubishi diode can hit 1 Watt at 1.4-1.5A. Using a G1/G2 lens is mandatory.

That's why I was guessing 1W for my laser. I think WBS wants 500mW though so that is why I suggested 900mA assuming a 3-element. If he were to use a G1 then he could hit 500mW at around 750mA I'm guessing.

I'll be utilising one of the 300mW Mitsu diodes in my build. Just plain can't afford the 500mW one. Hopefully a 300mW diode @1050mA will be outputting a decent amount of power. Already ordered the C6 Host and the IRON4D driver. Just waiting to buy the diode for a few days.

Oh the 300mW Mitsu ha, You said 500mW one above.

Some 300mW Mitsus can handle 1050mA well while some weak ones dim or die there. Its up to you.

If I recall... I think many people had them (300mw ones) doing pretty good at about 925mA as long as they have decent heat sinking.
