@all - Looks like on of the big reasons people like macs is for their start up time.
I find this to be somewhat odd. The reason being is for my desktop, the start up time is 50 seconds, a minute at the most, and I don't use SSDs. From sleep, my computer wakes and is ready in 3-5 seconds. I would imagine if I were to install an ssd these times would be even faster.
Older computers, like the one I use at work from 2008, can be optimized to start in about a minute and a half, and to wake from sleep in ~10 seconds or so. Although I don't see a point to turning off a work tower at all
