Looking for someone to meter my S3 Krypton

Yup, that would also work.

Also...

Why do these ones look different than the one TJ posted? Are these different lasers than the DPSS ones?

I would be interested to see a ten minute run!
And by modes I think he means does it have strobe/ higher / lower power settings?

Maybe he's talking about TEM

Yes, by mode I was speaking of the Transverse mode. Guess I should have been more clear.

So I expanded the beam and to my surprise its square in low power, and I couldn't really tell the modes. It was circular and there were spots that moved around.

Every single high powered handheld green seems to behave that way... at least of the 5 that I owned at one point or another. It's actually kind of interesting to watch.:tinfoil:

Doesn't really matter for our purposes I suppose, except that if the fluctuations are too pronounced you can actually see the beam brightness itself change... which to me is annoying.

Thats called mode hopping. The modes are jumping around, caused by low crystal quality.

That's cool. I guess mine is normal. Mne doesn't really drop in brightness unless I leave it on for 5-7 minutes.

Thanks or sharing that :)

My review was already done. I just wanted to see how good of a laser I got.

I forgot your initial review was of a "for review" unit. I guess it's not surprising they sent you an up to spec replacement, considering the overall tone of the review was so positive, despite the original laser being underspec.

I could very well be wrong... but isn't some mode hopping normal in DPSS lasers as the parts warm up and change shape thru expansion. So its not ALWAYS due just to cheap cyrstals.
