Looking for 532nm in excess of 500mW

I am after a 532nm >500mW however i am located in Australia and all the sites i have visited (lazerer, o-like etc) do not want to split the laser into two packages to avoid customs. Does anyone here have such a laser for sale? Preferably a new laser, I will also need safety goggles.

I am also willing to purchase the module and host separately and build it once i receive it however this will be the first time i will have done something like this. Is it difficult to build a laser this way? Will i need special tools?

Any info would be appreciated.

Re: Looking for 532nm in excess of 500W

I think you meant "mW"... milliwatts. I don't believe we (as a species) have developed a 500W DPSS 532nm laser yet. Better update/edit the thread and title before the trolls show up.

Re: Looking for 532nm in excess of 500W

who said anything about DPSS?

Hehe, it's normally implied when one mentions 532nm. I'm fairly certain that no other laser available to the general public (no FELs) lases exactly at 532nm.

I recommend you look into getting a Lab module if you really want 500mW+. I *think* lab modules are legal in Australia, but I can't remember for sure, so don't quote me on that.

You're not really going to find a >500mW module you can slap in to a handheld host, at least not easily. The pump source for that would be multi-watt. There are a few threads about 1W 532nm labbys, check them out. It is EXPENSIVE though.

Laserglow.com Hercules-500 to Hercules-750; >500mW to <799mW. Price: $1789 to $4589

Fully FDA compliant, but I don't think that helps ya down under.

If ya complain about the price you're welcome to try and find an alternative. Just because I want a 100mW 593.5nm labby for under $500 doesn't mean it is out there to find. (That would be $8840, btw.)

I would suggest the 500mw o-like green.
If you email them you can just have the laser module shipped.
They shipped me one.
Its a few buck cheaper.
A laser module is not a complete laser but just the driver plus laser assembly for use in your own host and or lab design.
If you are that worried about customs you can try to bribe them with 50$ to put it into separate packages.
You must mention you would pay extra to have it separated and shipped.
In this world money speaks.

A > 500mw Jetlasers PL-C Pro 532nm in the upcoming Feb group buy would be an affordable high quality choice---only $455US.

Endcap^^ my JL GBs are CONUS and Canada only and afaik JL will not ship 'down under'.

I have suggested that David get a 445 kit sent in two boxes and assemble it himself.

edit.

Mr J you may as well hear this from me but it looks like you have two threads almost the same and the sticklers here will prolly let you know that.. getting any laser to you would be chancey and a 532 almost impossible with out doing as Kiyo suggested. A 532nm module meant for a labby can be used to DIY a handheld.

Going with a reputable (or non-reputable) company is your best bet.
I don't think anyone here would be willing to risk a customs confiscation without the possibility of recouping. Especially for a random.
Why do you need a handheld >500mW where a lab-laser won't do?

Sorry, forgot about the CONUS and Canada only rules of the JetLasers GB.

Looks like you will have to take a chance with one of the vendors who do ship to Australia that the package will not be stopped -- or perhaps get 445 kit shipped in several packages.

Australian customs are tough---only <1mw are allowed in---perhaps you can get a permit for a more powerful laser.

I'm not sure if i'm correct but i'm pretty sure the firedragons from the recent group buy have a module that can be taken out, i know RHD took the module from his and put it in a nice host.
Perhaps you could ask someone who knows what they're doing to make it so you just need to screw/glue the module back in?
(probably not the best suggestions but might inspire a better idea!)

There's a link at the top of the page...

Most I've seen average ~900mW... they also use a CNI module, so the quality isn't as bad as you might read here. They will also ship anywhere... so it may be a good option for you.

If it does get confiscated, they'll just send you a new one... or give you your money back. Expect to wait around 2-3 weeks though.

Good luck!
