I thought this a very interesting video and worth watching, so sharing the link here. I am willing to discuss this, but please be patient as I might take awhile to answer, takes the patience out of the trolls who would deny such a theory.

Don't start threads if you want a one sided argument - it's not going to happen. Make your own website or blog or something and take it there if you don't want to discuss these THEORIES from any but your own side.

Every time you post one of these things:

Meh, at this point it's more like

But he doesn't mean hologram in the sense of "someone is projecting an image and trying to trick us", it's more about thinking multidimensionally.

String theory. I haven't bothered to learn too much about string theory, but it is a legitimate idea and it's basically a way to think about and model reality and it actually fits, but it can't be tested.

If you don't want to talk about it, no one is standing behind you reply to the other members discussing it.

Unless, of course, you're being controlled by lizard people and they are, in fact, making you talk about it.

But if you post a link, expect replies... the lizard people make us talk about it.

What I've never understood is how their amazing mind control abilities can make it through the obstintanium shell on the outer mantle (which, incidentally has never been proven to exist. The geologists doing research on the earth (sidenote - the earth has actually not been proven to exist, many people, including many in the world of academia and gynecological trampoline gymnastics, believe the world to be simply a projection due to gravitational lensing around the sun (it should actually be noted that the theorgy of general relativity cannot account for the accelerated coronometric decay of the ionosphere - and increased gravitational lensing - due to biannual peridontic heating from the sun and large volumes of coronal mass ejection, look it up, I didn't) and the tides from the moon hologram (why can't we call it the lunagram? it's such an amazing word yet the mainstream scientific community rejects it for seemingly no reason, but what Obummer doesn't want you to find out is that health care is actually strictly prohibited by the Russian space program, it was merely out of the kindness of their collective glorious communist heart that they allowed American hospitals to continue operating through the French and Indian war of 1996. When the CIA stops hiding the contents of the cablegrams to the Sioux (which, incidentally are also a myth perpetuated by the horse people to further the lie that they were abused and used as war animals by native americans and white imperialists alike (and that cannot possibly be true because during that time period the earth was much warmer and warm-weather animals roamed as far north as the mythical city of Manitoba (a city that the Canadian intelligence agencies want you to believe exists, but is actually a Spanish plot to control the vast honey reserves of the Canadian wild (maple syrup doesn't actually exist; all it is is honey aged for two years in maple barrels (there's a lot of debate surrounding the appropriate amount of time to age honey to create maple syrup, but the Mayan calendar predicted that an aging time of two years would be just right for honey harvested in 2012))) - war horses never existed, soldiers road glorious war giraffes into battle. Fossils were never found because reasons) that will be proven once and for all, but they just keep claiming that those communiqués never happened) the truth will be exposed once and for all) are caused by the extreme levels of photometric energy required to project such a large object into space (fun fact: space isn't actually a vacuum, a fringe lunatic scientist actually has proven that space is not only nonexistent, but it's also the primary source of farts among flightless birds in Paraguay) and the existence of earth is simply a plot by environmentalists to make us spend money to save trees) have a vested interest in keeping the research dollars coming in to fund their stupid research and feed their socialist children) and affect everything in our bodies from muscle control all the way down to the metaphasic phonywaves that make up our bogistatic thought patterns. It's truly an incredible theory and I would advise all of you to

And that's how Elvis assassinated Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy at the same time with the same bullet.

TL;DR: Lizard People

Laser Project, don't you have a Wordpress blog or Facebook group you could post this stuff to instead?

The only difference between you posting these links and someone else posting inane cat videos they find on Youtube is subject matter. You don't post any details about what you find interesting or really anything else. This is basically just spam.

I wouldn't even mind it if you actually discussed some of the merits of what you find so interesting about these videos or subject -- but you don't. If your excuse (or other peoples') is "but I'm going to be ridiculed for it" then why are you posting in the first place? Back up your posts with words or GTFO.

You should take the hint laser project, these kinds of threads are not popular here ;)

I watched the first 11 mins of that video before I couldn't take it anymore. His idea of a blackhole is stupid because no one can live inside one... (he actually used goldfish in his analogy) but this guy believes the reason why computers overheat is because we delete information from it and it travels through the computer case out into space and that's why we have to cool them down...
I threw up my hands and said "Done!"

Computers heat up because switching several billion transistors on and off billions of times a second generates waste heat...

If the information traveled "through the case" would it not be the case that needs cooling? Not the component itself? Also information is stored in the hard disk/solid state drive, if this "information deletion causes heat" were true, wouldn't the medium these deletions are taking place in be the hottest? A hard disk drive/solid state drive is usually one of the coolest components in a PC.

Clearly this fellow lacks a proper understanding of how computers operate.

I know! Watch it at 12 mins in and hear how stupid this guy is... my god it's unbelievable

Wow, I lost three more points, and I started another active thread, it seems.

OK, try this one on for size:

Do we live in a 2-D hologram? Experiment will test the nature of the universe

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/08/140826121052.htm

This is real science and this last link even involves lasers, with lasers in it, I shouldn't have posted it in the "other" section, now I'm in real trouble and deserve the most feared punishment of all (less banning) having my popularity meter go down! OK, vote it out, but I find this stuff interesting and I say again, put me on ignore if you don't like it. Excuse me if this next statement/question isn't taken well, but what is the education level of most members here, on average? Maybe I should be asking what the average age is instead?

As to the information heat relationship, try this on, it is more sophisticated:

http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v483/n7388/abs/nature10872.html

Sure, heat is created inside semiconductors when they function as gates, but from the above link, none of that appears to matter, heat will still be generated for other reasons too. It makes sense to me, it would take energy to change the state of something, of anything..... it will require work to erase something, no matter how you cut it, because you are CAUSING a change of state.

I'm only responding once a day to this thread to slow down the mud slinging by those who disagree with these things.

Seriously, the universe might be some kind of hologram, perhaps not the way you might think, not the kind of hologram we make with film or light, but yet a kind of hologram on a huge scale:

Reality is stranger than any fiction ever conceived by any human being, I guarantee that. My take on the way some members of this wonderful forum are so resistive against these ideas is that they have no tolerance for anyone who challenges their world views, especially someone like myself who will do so be damned or not, as is obvious... However, no serious transgressions have occurred on my part, so please have more patience.

Citing Nature?! Peer reviewed content???

Laser Project you need to stop saying everyone is closed minded just because they don't believe everything they hear/read. You're really coming off as a crazy old man that wont stop ranting about the same thing while drunk at the bar. I'm asking you to stop posting this stuff rather than expect everyone else to ignore it.
You're running the risk of getting banned (which I hope doesn't happen). If you want to continue to enjoy the laser hobby this is the place. so don't ruin it. Alright?

I could brag about my credentials here, but I'll refrain. We value arguments based on their merits. We do NOT value arguments based on the education or age of those that make them. -3 for ad hominem.

Ugh, can someone help me out here please? I've been going through these crazy threads and I cannot seem to find the one answer I've been trying to seek my whole life.

It's one of those lifelong questions I ask myself in the shower, before I go to bed, on the way to work, just all the time, really.

Can someone please tell me, what is the wavelength of pure green?

Way off topic, but here you go:

Subjective, maybe better to ask what is the wavelength the human eye responds to best, at peak, in the green range. Well, truth is our eyes are most sensitive to the green portion of the spectrum anyway.

Google told me this: "Cones containing chlorolabe show a maximum response to lights with a 531 nm wavelength (green), and are sensibly referred to as green or middle-wavelength cones." - Cool how our 532nm greenies are so close to maximum sensitivity, isn't it.

There is no green color, not really, that is the product of the human brains interpretation of the wavelength as perceived through the eye. The wavelength exists, of course, just not "green" as we know it. I'm not even sure if any particular animal experiences that wavelength of light the way we do or not, or whether my green is the same as your green. See this video to understand why I say that:
