ORDER PAGE IS NOW HERE

V5 is now here!

Up for sale are some small, high efficiency DC/DC converters that were designed to drive laser diodes (primarily) and can also be used for LED flashlights.

These drivers are buck or boost current regulators that can run on anything from 2 1.5V cells to a li-ion 18650. It can also operate on two CR123 cells with the addition of a diode in series with the battery. *Mark the request for a diode in your order if you want one. *Input voltage range 2.0V to 5.5V. High efficiency up to 90% power conversion. They have a pot so current is adjustable to suit your needs. Multiple current ranges (see manual on purchase page) are built in to the driver. There is a soft start and no longer a startup delay of under 1 second when you first turn it on; subsequent turn-ons in a short period do not have this delay.

(A leadlight is a pen laser)

Features:

-Run any diode (red laser, blu-ray laser, >=2.5V LED) from any battery set 2.5V - 5.5V (extendable to 6V)
-Current ramp up protects diode from spikes
-No dropout voltage to worry about
-No output sag even on weak batteries that are below the diode voltage
-Tiny size fits almost any use, and fits inside aixiz modules
-Current adjustable pot to precisely set your laser current or brightness
-Very high efficiency increases battery life and reduces heat in your application
-9x12mm, for high portability and host compatibility.

Cost for this run is $23 each + $3 shipping anywhere in the world.

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

Hey DrL,

How is the pot adjust as far as sensativity?

Is it extremely touchy?

How many turn pot is it, just a single go-around I assume?

I would probably like to a get a few.

So is the shipping per unit, or will the 2 bucks cover a few units at once?

Let me know when you can.

Thanks, Joe

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

Hi, good question.
The pot is single-turn so it can be sensitive, that's why there are two ranges, so it's not TOO sensitive you do need to be somewhat careful when adjusting it, it's so small.  If it was meant to cover the whole 32-500mA range with 1 turn, that would be to much.
$3 covers shipping no matter how many you order.

Yes! thanks.

That is correct. Or more if you like, as long as the AA batt internal resistance doesn't cause them to sag down below 2.45V.

this is a buck/boost, it will drive at whatever V needed (within limits) to drive the blu-ray at your chosen current (set via pot)(and choice of primary range).
