You use a dummy load to set the current. THEN you solder the diode to the driver.

I know that i need to use a dummy load (which i always do). But, for the risky situations, when the diode is already soldered to the driver, and you need to measure voltage across the R10 resistor, how do you adjust the current without batteries connected to it? It is impossible...
