Hi, sorry guys I'm still waiting on the assembler, but according to his extimated time they should be shipped express this week.

The preset current option will be there for the forseeable future. :)

So after some more thinking on this, as well as talking to another member about this, I have a question. Does 'pre-set' current just mean that you're adjusting the current with the pot before sending it out, or does it actually have fixed resistors? I originally thought it was a fixed resistor thing, eliminating the pot. Then I re-read it and realized it may just be setting the pot.

So this leads me to another question. If one wanted to take out the pot and change it to a fixed resistor setup, what is the formula to use to figure out how much resistance to use? Thanks!

V / Amp = R (Ohms)
So 5V / .150mA = 33.33 Ohms

its something like that. He gives a good description on how to determine the Ohms in the lava drive guide.

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

When you get the current preset, I'll adjust the range and pot to that current, so it's still adjustable, just preset.
If you want fixed resistors, that's possible, I can update the manual with instructions on how to do this.
thanks!

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

hey Dr. Lava, I was wondering, what value pot would i need to change one of the older ones from low to high range?

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

If you replace the pot from the driver with one of the three off of the PHR sled, it will give you more than 200mA. My meter maxes out at 200 so it just displays OL (overload). I don't know how much more than 200mA it goes but it gives a pretty good range from 0-200+ mA

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

Congrats on the sticky, drlava. This thread deserves it.

That would be awesome :D

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

wahoo! sticky!!

now how about that assembler of yours? any updates on his progress..

edit: AWESOME! they look so beautiful!!! can't wait!

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

NEWS! they are here! :)

Also, when trimmed they can fit in aixiz modules now.  I still don't see much of a need, but people requested it.  :D

Shipping will commence immediately.  The solder jumper in the bottom corner is the high-range selector.

P.S. hmm it's sticky now :) I hope I'm the only one with the habit of automatically scrolling past the stickies on forums I visit! :P

I didn't read all 14 pages but, is that a new version of the flexdrive?

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

Sweet It's Soooo Smalll!!!!
Now I can't wait to get it!

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

Haha, it took me a whole minute before I realized this thread had been stickied... No wonder I couldn't find it ;D
