Updated 4/25/2016 - After going back to work last week I began using this new pointer. Thursday and Friday I used it very very briefly at a conference and today I used it during my training class. It was not used for long. The normal average use of briefly pointing out buttons on the projection screen. All was well and good until about 3:45pm today. I have tried new batteries. I am actually quite upset now. Totally not about the money. I've opened another case, this time to return it for a refund. I will NOT be waiting on another if I have a choice. I do not want to be disappointed again. It really was a beautiful pen and a beautiful color. I'll make a video and maybe it will turn out.

Updated 3/23: Finally received the replacement unit. Took photos and put it back in the box and stuck it in rice... Just for good measure. The sellers advised that the prior one "could have condensation from shipping"... I mean I really really doubt it... but I'm not willing to wait another month or three. I will continue to buy from Laserlands (Besram) but go in knowing you are going to waaaaaiiiiiiit. I'll update with photos once I can drop in some batteries and I get a chance.

Updated 3/8:
Finally received my unit yesterday. Put batteries from my 532nm pen in it. It lased very well and was much brighter than 5mw. I decided to grab a few pictures to upload. After 4 pictures (it was not on the whole time, only on for each picture) with maybe a 10-20 second runtime each picture (max)... the damn thing went dim. When I say dim... my camera won't even pick it up. I'm going to grab some new batteries at lunch today just to double check, but the batteries still have no issue powering my 532nm pen. All this after waiting since 1/26... not pleased... at all. My only saving grace is that because shipping took over 30 days they did ship out another unit about a week and a half ago or so... maybe it won't be junk. I did send them an ebay message asking how they want to get their dead unit back... I didn't expect much for 20 bucks... but I did expect more than this.:(:cryyy::banghead::mad::scowl:

So I placed the order for ~19.00 for This
<5mW 445nm 450nm Blue Ray Portable Laser Lazer Pointer Point Pen

Do you think it will show up as a 405nm? I'm asking because of the "Blue Ray" portion of the title. I have seen others here that have purchased and been happy with LaserLands, so I thought I'd give it a shot at less than 20 bux. I will post my Summary. (I will call it a summary to avoid backlash if I call it a review as I don't have a spectro or an LPM)

Re: LaserLands 445/450nm 5mw Ebay Order

hmmm Blu-ray always mean 405nm......

Yeah I know, I missed that when I purchased it. He had several listed as 445nm/450nm that didn't say that. I will absolutely return it if it comes 405nm.

Re: LaserLands 445/450nm 5mw Ebay Order

There is a chance it could be 445nm/447nm actually going by the price, though that dosent make it a guarantee. 405nm 5mW pointers tend to be cheaper then 5mW 445nm/447nm ones, but we won't know until it gets to you indeed.

Best of luck :)

Re: LaserLands 445/450nm 5mw Ebay Order

When laserlands was new, their 450nm low power pens were around 45mW, just FYI. Don't expect this one to be 5mW, but there's a decent chance it may be 450nm.

Re: LaserLands 445/450nm 5mw Ebay Order

I have a 450nm ebay pen that costed me $30 over a year ago. Does about 12mW. This is a good price but not unrealistic.

Re: LaserLands 445/450nm 5mw Ebay Order

Either way if it isnt 445/450 you've got a free laser pointer, description clearly states the wavelength as 445.

Not nearly as unclear as some things you see on alibaba and aliexpress for example: Laser Diode 445nm Green Nichaia 405nm 532 660 Mitsubishi laser <- What will arrive in the post if you buy this?

Re: LaserLands 445/450nm 5mw Ebay Order

I did receive a reply stating it was "between 445nm and 450nm" they don't know the diode used...

This has been the longest two weeks. It seems like so much longer than that. 7 days remaining.

Re: LaserLands 445/450nm 5mw Ebay Order

Ahh I knew yesterday when I was reviewing the post that it felt like longer than two weeks. I would have edited my prior post but being that this is a whole day later I felt it deserved an additional post.

Order placed on

Hey at least I'm not crazy. (at least not for that reason)

If you still haven't gotten it yet, then I should let you know that this is actually a GENUINE 5mW 450nm laser pen :D I would know, I own 6 of them. It's my favorite laser. Its actually 5mW and not overspec which is good because its eye safe. The color is actually 450nm too because I compared it to my 405nm pen and there's a very big color difference.

Re: LaserLands 445/450nm 5mw Ebay Order

Also, forgot to mention for anyone wondering, it IS NOT single mode. It's a multimode diode which I assume is driven at a low current to put out 5mW. The "dot" is a rectangle.

Re: LaserLands 445/450nm 5mw Ebay Order

It's a multimode diode

Multiple longitudinal modes don't have much to do with the beam shape. The spots of most laser diodes are rectangle, simply because the emitting area is rectangle. Multimode is a different characteristic entirely. You can have perfectly round multimode beams, and single mode rectangular beams.

this is actually a GENUINE 5mW

And you know that based on the results from which power meter? Incidentally, what is the input current?

Re: LaserLands 445/450nm 5mw Ebay Order

Another place you could get one is laserbtb:
LP 450nm 1-80

Cake, try to edit rather than double post;) I've seen a lot of this lately for some reason from a wide range of members:)
