I've heard of people just mounting a panel of IR leds pointing at the camera which will blind it without doing any damage or breaking any laws. Lasers can destroy the camera but then you might get in trouble for that.
Hi, I just moved into a new house. Wouldn't you know it, I have a crazy person living across the street. He aimed 2 security camera at my door! I wouldn't mind so much, but he threatened my kid! Police were no help! What can I use to either mount, point and blind the camera, or just burn it out??
Please do explain. What was your kid doing to get threatened? How did he threaten your kid? And how did the situation with the police go?
Be honest. We may be able to actually help if your completely honest.
And any of those threads posted should help.
@Jerry. GREAT IDEA. Camera war! +1 for the good(and safe) idea.
^ Im workin on letting him know what he should do. The fact that the guy threatened his kid is a big negative(positive for getting the cameras removed) and im trying to get more info to see if this guy is facing harassment charges.
a laser from that distance wont blow out a camera but he has no right to shoot a camera on your property, im pretty sure you can call someone and get the camera removed in a situation like this.
end quote-- where did you get that info>> its not correct..
hmm.. pretty sure any home owner can mount all the cameras he wants and point them where he pleases- I have some that are aimed across my driveway and my neihbors house is right there-& if he came over and told me to move them i would say 'get lost' if he did something to damage them i would file charges- you can no more do that than take a bat and smash one- its not your 'right' to do so.
HOWEVER if he is some kind of child pred. perve that is WAY different.
There must be a better way to solve this then yet another stoopid laser incident.
Plant high think bushes around the walkway in front of your house - he cant get mad at you for that..
If you wanna give him a non-verbal "F-U" then point your own camera at him, along with High power IR LEDs.
If you use this, or this, you can see everything and he can see nothing. Like shining a flashlight into your friends eyes - he goes blind while you get to watch him and laugh :}
Like it's been posted, install a bunch of IR lights so it blinds the camera! Or simply go from behind and do what you have to do to protect your kid. As long as there's no proof, nothing can be done to you by law. :angel:
Hi, thank you so much! I can assure you I have tried the courts. He came in layered up and turned it around on me. He and wife are real sneaks. Cops even asked why the judge went this hard on me and when I told them he lawyered up, they shook their heads as if to say, I got it. He coined himself as a nY gangster that was gonna get my family after an argument at the pool over my kid splashing. But he's just a real sissy! I read that a powerful laser point would disrupt any image, so I need to mount one, probably hard wired to deter the comings and goings of my family. I really don't know about lasers. I saw an "arctic laser" for 299 but want some further advice. FL law allows the cam to be pointed. Thx for all your help I really feel a little better since so many strangers responded.
