Laser doesn't really work.

I would suggest a green one for physics experiments since the beam specs are way better with DPSS than with diodes....Then again if you get a cheap one, greenies are much more prone to unstable output and there's the chance of mode shifting too...

1.411 right now. If that's not a lot for you better for you, but for me this 30% permanent discount on every purchase in the net is amazing.

Althought it shouldn't be like this, if you go to stores that sell in euros the price is the same than if it were dollars, even the same TV that costs 1000$ in a local USA store, costs 1000€ here, so buying in dollars is really making me a real discount everywhere :D

^It's a VIRTUAL 30% discount. Everything's relative my friend. You may pay a smaller number of euros for an item, but the relative value is nearly the same.. I have yet to see an item with a price in euros that is the same price in dollars or vice versa. What websites are you shopping at? If the owners of those sites aren't adjusting for international currencies then they are fools. Hell, if I could buy a TV that usually costs $1000US for 1000 Mexican pesos, I'd be doing alright..

No offense, but after some hundreds of sales in ebay of products bought in dollars and sold in euros, I know what am I talking about. Every single thing I buy on internet, first I look if I can find it in spanish/eruopean shops. Most of the times I find that the price is just the same than it dollars (same number I mean). the other times the number is a bit lower but NEVER the correct exchange.

Just to give you an example, if I wanna take a cocacola, i go to any bar and its 1.50€. that's 2.10$, I bet cocacola there is 1.50$ or even less.

just examples.

Yours,
Albert

Ok, why would I take offense? As has often been said on many forums, cite or it didn't happen.. Also, all those folks out there that own whatever sites you're shopping on are losing money if they don't account for the correct exchange rates. I know how much I like losing money, doesn't everyone?

I got several of those little "pointers" on sale. The current draw was about 20 mA so I cranked up the volts and it was dead almost immediately. They run at max and those chips are pnly pressed into a contact holder. The little DG's are fun with more power however.

Well, about dollars / euro conversion (btw, paypal said 1.355 yesterday :p), it's just the impression, that make you think you don't pay more in dollars ..... at least, here, where for any item that i buy from USA, custom add from 40% to 60% in taxes on any declared value on the invoice ..... (BURN THEM ALL, OFFICES AND PEOPLES !!! :P :d)

Protectionism! Screw it! We're in a recession already! Free Trade ftw!
(haha, just excercising what I learnt in class :))

I'm surprised you guys paid so much for such a "low quality" laser. Here in South Africa they go for $0.40 in novelty stores. I've bought MANY of those in the past. If you buy ten, only 2 or so will output a decent beam. Some don't work at all! They are unfortunately just very low quality laser pointers...

Well, I think I paid pretty alright for it. After all, it's still working for me, and no major problems except a battery contact problem. Looks like there are different grades of low quality laser O_o
