Wooo! Incredibly awesome Sir

Pman...
I vote no limits. What I do think may have to happen though is to make the category a bit more restrictive but not too restrictive or it will lose the "fun". What I mean is more like instead of $100 spent, more like $0-10, 10-50, 50-100, etc... (just using $ as an example). For me, I don't even care if you just bought it or found it floating in a bottle and threw a sticker on it as long as you are completely honest about it. Let the people decide the winner with full disclosure.
Still have it totally open like this one but just pick a general category or too many people will get excluded. No-one is winning a car here. Keep it "light" and it will remain fun. Too many rules/parameters and the thread will die.
I know you may think this is stupid but I would have a hard time not voting for SBA's "second" entry because it makes me laugh everytime I see it. Wouldn't mind having a "funniest" category one

Totally agree, no limits, disclosure and a funniest category one of these days would be awesome

If we did no limit I am pretty sure we could just go ahead and send multimode the prize(s) for his RGB portable handheld laser.

What if lazeerer enters this contest with his 5W diode? :scared:

I forgot about that $100 limit. I think the next competition should be an all out war of laserists. Laserist against laserist fighting it out with the most powerful and the most unique lasers anyone has ever seen *dun dun dun!* Would be some sweet builds :eg:

I was thinking that too. Maybe 3 months with smaller comps going on in the meantime. I still like funniest or most creative so people don't get left out. But yeah. Something for the Big boys to tackle :eg: With something really special for the prize. Something on par with the cost of a high end custom beast...

I was actually thinking of hosting a competition like this at the end of this month.. Going for the month of July. No rules no limit best laser judged by the members.. With some pretty hefty prizes.. Say with $500 value first $250 second and $100 third.. I can source some good prizes..

I bet a few of the vets have something that we have never seen before... :pop:

I would love to see people pull out the builds that they keep a velvet cloth over. Show us your baby. The gem! Also, here comes LazerBeak to post right beneath me.

It would be interesting but there are certain levels that are not compatible with most of the users. For example, what would you put into competition with that rgb laser from the uk? (Can't recall the user name), or that custom 1.250w green monster. ... I mean one might have nice lasers but there are people out there that spend much more than a grand or two on a single laser... Who could compete ???

Sorry Issac, missed it by 2 posts, I was busy :(

Norbyx...

I would be an Elitist thing Norbyx. Strictly in the interest of Laser Pr0n for the masses and bragging rights on the forum. Not everyone would be able to enter. That's why I thought of a longer timeframe and other smaller contests that could run at the same time so people who wouldn't be able to enter wouldn't feel so left out ;)

Again I think we are hacking this thread ... if we want to make a discussion on "other" constests it should be done on another thread....

Why make another thread when you already have one ;) Have you seen fat0panda's introduction thread? :D

My thought's exactly.. It's not about "oh this isn't fair cause i can't compete.." It is about "well i spent two weeks wages building this baby and i bet it would kick the laser you spent 3 weeks wages on's ass"!! lol
