didn't sound like a jerk to me, i wasn't even a part of this forum in "april" or prior, pardnon the "dumb" question, and thanks for answering, thats all i needed to know :) look forward to buying a few.

wasn't just directed at you. I've had a ton of folks, being the norm apparently, in waiting until it's TOO late, to inquire if they can still get a laser barrel. They are gonna have a hard time in college that way! mwahahahaha.

Kenom, can you verify my order please. no anodizing, no lens, Ordered before APR 30.

Your order will be shipped hopefully tomorrow. I'm trying to scrounge up some extra $$$ (buy some groove drivers anyone?) to pay for shipping on a few items. Check that. It won't be tomorrow I'm still waiting on the flexdrives. (buy some groove drivers anyone?) by the way I've got an auction on ebay for a few extra groove drivers to help raise some funds. hehe.

Good news everyone.  I've gotten the financing to complete this run as is.  so, that being said, now is the time for you to place your orders.  This will get submitted to the manufacturer in two weeks time.  I'll be taking orders up until then and on but those that get the orders in prior to that are guaranteed a barrel.

Is this what you were talking about? When you only had 33 orders?

Don't mean to sound like an ass but does this mean that I won't be guaranteed the barrels that I payed $258 for?

Surely I'm missing something here...

Your not missing something. You got your order in after the deadline, but I still had sufficeint space in the order to fill yours and everyone elses order up to a few weeks ago. If your name is in the list, posted 1 or 2 pages back, your getting what you paid for. And yes taht is the post I was referring to. I didn't know the exact date. Not to worry 110100100 your order is secure.

What the hell is the point of making a C-Mount host?

C-Mount comes in higher powers. You can get red diodes that run happily at 500mW in c-mount.
Except they are very hard to find.... and very expensive... and have bad beam specs...
Meh.... you can get them quite easily from S-KY and they are not THAT expensive. But yeah as far as I know the beam specs are a bit crap. Great for burning though!

Not really that good for burning. The diameter is typically massive on c-mounts, and even if you focus it down, the natural beam profile makes it less effective. :p

My 1 Watt 808 burns Awesome.  Would do the same thing in a barrel.  Not to mention sky sells 660nm and 635nm C-mounts.  Yes they are expensive but I'd pay to get a 1 Watt 660nm even with a bad beam profile. It's coherent light that would shoot out into the heavens. That holds appeal to me.

How much do those cost?

How are these sold? Are they just like an 808nm C-mount? What dose the "/HHR" mean?

I don't see HHR. However I do see HHL. someone more knowledgable than I will have to explain what that means.
