You really don't know what you're going to get with the no name cells and with the Ultrafire or xxxxFire cells. In my particular case, I have 4 no-name cells that outperform the 4 particular Ultrafires that I have. Not to say that any particular cell will always outperform another. As has been proven on CPF, some of the Chinese xxxFire cells from one batch will be very good performers. The same part number, same wrapper etc. ordered 2 weeks later could be a lame batch. (CPF has tons of good 18650 comparisons btw)
The cheapest way to get them is just to order a few from DX and wait. If you just pick something that has a huge number of positive reviews, chances are you're going to get good cells. Free shipping and cheap price. Even if you get some that aren't the best performers, it won't matter since most of our lasers are not very current hungry anyway. The performance of the cell matters a lot in high current draw flashlights but not so much in these relatively low draw lasers.
What I like to suggest (if you enjoy tinkering with electronics) is just ask everybody you know if they have any old laptop batteries that they aren't using. You will most likely find some, and inside of each pack will most likely be some good cells waiting to be harvested. It's kinda interesting if you have the time to waste taking them apart and testing the cells.
EDIT: I am very sorry OP to hijack the hell out of your thread. I hope that your battery and charger comes in soon, and I look forward to hearing about the performance of your new laser!
