JETLASERS GB #6 Phase Two- make your choices

Tonga-cant find your mailing addy.
Mike (Ra1n) yours is coming in box#2- I got them mixed up. I thought you were getting a 300 rather than the 150. it will be here soon and i am sure it will be spec or over-- shipping asap. (I do have yr address)

Also does anyone know the voltage the Ti-Bs work from. Does it need to be a 3,6V or a battery with nominal 3,6V thats 4.2 when charged. I don't wont to hurt it with extra voltage :o

They will work regardless from any 14500 (from 4.2V to 3.2V IIRC). Ive had no issues with my unit.

Alright good, I wasn't sure if this one had a particular voltage it liked. I should have asked you since you have one :p

Thanks Hak, good things come to those who wait I suppose :D :pop:

GOT IT!

thanks for resending it. I missed the closing of the PO by minutes but that is good as the second box I now hear is on the way so I will repack and add the missing items(glasses and chargers)

Good news also on the ti-pen 405/150.
The extension tube must be used with a second 3.6v battery.
Using it now gives 187mW. So the options are- with the tube 187mW w/ two rechargeables or with primaries ~50mW.
Without the tube 50mW using one 3.6v. So it can be shipped once the glasses are here(prolly on Friday):yh:

So my laser is DOA?

Sad to say- that is apparently the case. First time that has happened.

Gray feels very bad whenever anything like this comes up. I am returning the front part to Gray, but sending you the tail-cap, glasses-charger and a little gift.

Gray, I hope will Express ship the front section asap. We would be done with all this if I had been able to place our order a few days earlier. The big week-long China holiday shuts down almost everything. Sorta like us getting an order on Xmas eve. Stuff gets put on the back burner til after New Years Eve is over. We went thru this last year too. Everybody around the world needs holidays lest work drives us crazy.

I have sent out the orders for Mike-Jerry & Rod. I was able to cut a corner or two to keep the ship cost down. USPS tracking is basically confirmed delivery. You wont need to sign afaik. I only insured for 100$ as if there is any damage that should cover any repairs. I used smaller boxes so that save a few $$ too. Delivery will be by Monday or sooner. I have rounded down this to $11 domestic and $13.50 for the DHL Express from Jetl to me. (that includes a fuel charge of $1)

Shipping cost Rod's order is paid by Gray as it is a credit for a returned underspec PL-C from a previous GB. Otherlaser companies usually make you pay for return shipping costs but not JETLASERS.

Once your lasers arrive safe and sound you guys can each PP me 24.50$ via my snapplz gmail acct. please send this as 'personal-paymeent owed for services'-THANKS GUYS.

I did take LPM pics and will just post them here later today- all tested fine- best one was Mike's 532/150 Ti-B @iirc 225mW. I erred when I wrote Jerry that his was 75mW overspec. sorry 'bout that. I got his 200mW mixed up wit Mikes 150. All were at least a little overspec but only Mike was a full 75mW over.

All have a one year warranty- please write to Gray via LPF and send him your contact info and the S/N from your laser with the date received for Grays records. AFAIK if you sell it the warranty is transferrable. The T-Bs are both water and shock resistant but not water/shock proof. Take care to never drop it or put it underwater.

A 1 min on and 30 sec rest is recommended by me.

They all have reverse polarity protection should you insert the battery(s) with he positive towards the front(wrong).

The T-Bs with the white plastic sleeve inside take an AA size 3.6 vdc rechargeable to get full power. Those without take two 16340s @ 3.6 vdc each. You can use a single 18650 but it will barely make spec and I imagine that the run time will be less.

PM me first with any issues before posting on the forums. Thanks to all.

Hak

ps
if you find an extra 16340 charger in your box it is a gift from AixiZ and myself.
It may not be for your laser the small part included also allows the charging of the slightly smaller 15266 rechargeables. Hope it comes in handy some day.
Chuck at AixiZ gave me a dozen to give away- If you want to thank him please do . He gets messages here from time to time. username 'cmaricle'
I would appreciate a short note of thanks to Chuck so he knows I am not selling these free dual chargers--lol.

The big order of four units for Andrew and friends is lacking one laser which I hope to have very soon.
ATM
still no word on the possibility of another GB.

I got all excited by 275mW:( but hopefully it's a little overspec, would be my luck if the 150mW versions came in more powerful that then 200mW:p

PP for everything sent:)

Thanks for organizing this Len. Can't wait to get my hands on my new greenie:D

I hope come Monday you box will arrive w/ the right one,&
the only error was what I wrote. and not what I actually did send.

Woot  maybe a bit preemptive but should we be expecting our lasers on Monday

I hope they get there and the correct lasers are in the right boxes. I may have gotten two mixed up. but I hope not . I was in a rush and had not finshed unpacking from five days out of town doing a cook-off. I will pay shipping if we need to do a trade. PM me please once you get your boxes.

Tonga yours goes out Monday,

AFAIK the problem was in the connection n/p with the DPSS or driver.

You will need one' AA' size 3.6 vdc rechargable- glasses and charger comes with. be sure the neg end of the battery is touching the contact up inside and that the tailcap spring is in place and touches the pos end. Also any laser with a spring in the tailcap generally is not attached except by compression- take care to not allow it to fall off and possibly get lost..and take 10mimutes on my hands and knees trying to find it.(not yrs btw)

Believe me, I really hope so too:p

If I got/get the wrong one, it would probably save time for me to ship direct to jetlasers, unless the mix up is here in the US. I guess hopefully we'll see, although IDK if mail will be delivered today, half of my town is without power (including me):(

Gennady-- if there is a mix up it can be fixed here- no need to send back to Gray. We will know today.

Tonga- sorry David, but I dont think your Ti-B is going out today. I have discovered the issue. Like most handhelds the contacts to the battery (s) are accomplished using two tiny springs. This method has worked OK but IMHO it may be a design flaw. These tiny spring are sometimes only held in place by compression and thus are subject to getting loosened, falling from thier place and even getting lost forever.

The spring up inside of your Ti-B was not in place when I unpacked the lasers and it has not shown up in the packing materials , on my workspace or on the floor. I never got your laser to work until I used a jumper to go from the end of the battery that touches the battery at the tailcap.
I shined a light up into the tube and I see a spring in my working Ti-B but none is inside of your 532/200. I am willing to try to remove my spring wih long hemoststs and putting it into yours but not 100% sure that will work or that I can get it into place. This would be an easy task if it were the spring on the tailcap but its the other one and taking the tube off to do this seems to not be an option ATM.

waitng now for a responce from Gray-- I will PM your wih his answer.
just now tried to get the spring from my Ti-B and its does not want to come out with gentle tugging and I am reluctant to use more force. Makes me wonder how yours even came out.

sorry this will be made right- hope the wait is not much longer---hak

Thanks Len. I'll definitely update with a quick post although won't really be online once I leave work... No power at home:cryyy:

The one benefit to being a laserholic and very minor flashaholic during a blackout is that the beams look spectacular outside with no other lights getting in the way:D

Yeah, should be able to see some nice stars too IE wihtout the light pollution :)

I just picked up a Modded 6P surefire with an XPG drop-in. this thing makes dark=pwned :D and its samll so its a nice edc light as well
