Is This setup ok

That is an SF- AW210 so If this was my build i would not go past 170mA.

If you can get a 7.5 ohm resistor would give you ~167mA if you cannot find a 7.5ohm resistor use 2x 15ohm resistor and put them in parallel like you were going to do with the 2x 10ohm resistors. This is if you want to run it at ~170mA.

lazeerer good catch I totally missed that. He needs to use a different resistor to up the power a bit.

+ Rep for you my man.

Won't let Me Rep you right now. Damn

:thanks: Buddy Yes you are correct if he want to run it at Max safely. A 7.5 ohm or 2x 15ohm in parallel to get ~170mA.:)

Edit: NP Buddy.:)

If its the Ghl-20h diode or whatever we used to use back in the 6X days... (last year) lol

then 175mA was considered the max safe current.

I believe thought that O-Like uses the swf- series 6X diodes, which was proven to be no better than a 4X. Not many people have used the o-like diodes, so it could just be a fluke.

I recommend ~150-175mA.

O-Like has SF-AW210 diodes. The graph that they use is an experimental test that I did. They do not know what they are looking at.

The SF-AW210 needs to be kept UNDER 170mA to be safe.

It develops its first kink at about 180mA. You need to keep it below that kink.

Peace,
dave

Not sure if anyone's said this yet, but if you go with a pen host, you also need 2 10440's. 2 AAAs will not work. Sorry if you already knew this, just thought I'd throw it out there...

hi every one...I am new here...can I use the same circuit for ps3 bluray diode but without aixiz module???and also can I use this circuit for 9V batt.?

You will need to find some way to add a collimating lens for Your Diode!!! AixiZ or a knock off module is the easiest and best way to do this.

Oh I have some think else in my mind...this aixiz module have inside a glass or something else???or it is just a hole??? And sry that I am asking again but can I use this circuit with 9V batt for my ps3 blueray diode???thanks

A PS3 diode runs around 40ma, so a 9v will provide enough current for your diode. The AixiZ modules come with an acrylic lens which will be fine for your low power blu-ray, and you can upgrade to a glass lens for a few dollars more.

If he's in a real pinch and just has those 10 ohm resistors on hand, he could probably put 2x of them in series, and then put that in parallel with a 3rd.

----[10 ohm]--[10 ohm]----
|-------[10 ohm]-------|

That should create a resistance of 6.66 ohms, and result in around 187ma with his LM317 circuit. That diode would potentially be ok for a while?
