Hey!
I got an heatsink for my LPC-18 red diode pressed in an Aixiz module.
It's kinda smaller then I expected.. some pics:

With the module on:

that won't work at alll.... the fins are supposed to be in open air... also, your red is still weak enough that just the module is adequate for heat sinking in a non continuous duty environment

that heat sink is looks like it is meant for an LM317 voltage regulator or similar

NOPE!!!!. if you mount it into a flashlight host then you will need something to fill the void. which is usually aluminum, which in turn is mass style heat sink.

or if you just mount it in a box you'll be fine too.

just to be clear... what current will you be running it at? is your driver in the module or will you have it mounted externally?
michael.

If you want a heatsink I will send you one free of charge (just pay shipping)

I have a few computer heatsinks I am not using. If you want one Pm me.

PS: You will need to find a way to drill a hole in them to accept your aixiz module.

Thanks,
Jeff

You need a heatsink for that module, 350mA isn't low current. A CPU heatsink will do but it is kinda overkill :)

What if I turn it on for no more then 15 secs every time and then let it cool? then I won't need a heatsink?

Any links to that particular heatsink? I have several copper and aluminum CPU heatsinks but ones with a solid centre are much better :D

Hey, I just got a similar heatsink from a CPU and it looks just like in the pics :D
but, in the middel, there is a gold tube. is it ok to drill it?

It was made for a socket775 CPU but it isn't a Intel heatsink. All that I know is that the retail Intel heatsinks have a hollow centre. They aren't suited for the aixiz module.
