Introducing two new miniature drivers for portable lasers

Re: Introducing two new miniature drivers for portable lasers + Kenom Fundraiser!

Right now I don't have a cart system so it's 2 orders and when they are made near the same time I remove the shipping from one so the cost is as if one order were made.

@ Dr Lava
Very cool drivers I'm going to get a few of these for sure ;) I see you like my idea of putting epoxy on top of the coils to protect them, I have several drives coil's that seemed to crumble while I was being very easy with them not to break the ferite bobbin and even more that came in for repair because the ferite bobbin was dammaged so I got tired of it and epoxied all of my V5 drives coils ;)

This solved the problem of breaking coils, you must have seen the one I sent you ;) and thought it was a good idea Huh.... :thanks:

BTW do both of these drives have the same 3" lead length maxium on the output ?

wow pyro... are those homemade flex's?!

stuart :)

Yeah, I noticed it after some minutes too. What made me think the new one is smaller? W/e

Maybe drlava's finger is growing ;)

Peace,
dave

LOL, finger is growing! That is funny stuff. I am looking forward to trying this new Groove drive out. Order has been placed.

Re: Introducing two new miniature drivers for portable lasers + Kenom Fundraiser!

drlava, I have a quick question about your new Micro Boost driver...

It appears that the stock setting is the 390mA - 750mA range. Am I correct in this?

And if so, does the solder bridge shown in the picture for that range setting need to be 'un-bridged' for some of the other range settings?

Because all of the pictures in the documentation show that the solder point for the 390-750 range is still soldered. The yellow line is not there, but you can see that the solder is 'bridged' in the pictures...

Thanks!

Hi, no there are no bridges set at stock. The photo I used was of a driver where I had already bridged that range as an example. Good eye!

Ok then, I'm looking at the pictures in the documentation, but also at the driver you sent me... And it is bridged. (390-750)

So that's why I asked. But I think I understand...

What you are saying, is that my driver is already set to the 390-750 range. And that the pictures showing the solder, doesn't mean the new drivers will come that way. But there will be no solder there...

Thanks! (if I said something inaccurate, please correct me)

Re: Introducing two new miniature drivers for portable lasers + Kenom Fundraiser!

Any chance to purchase one without having a credit card?
Thats the driver ive waited for so long..

Re: Introducing two new miniature drivers for portable lasers + Kenom Fundraiser!

HELP setting the high range on the Groove 2 please. I am trying to finish something tonight and have all the soldering done aside from setting the drivers.

Re: Introducing two new miniature drivers for portable lasers + Kenom Fundraiser!

nevermind. It is pretty obvious once I looked at the driver closely. Feel kind of stupid for asking actually.

Re: Introducing two new miniature drivers for portable lasers + Kenom Fundraiser!

That's right, Jayrob. The first 'engineering sample' driver I sent you had the range set, but they don't come set stock.

pHenex, yes, paypal is accepted please PM me for details.

Yobresal, The groove2 says 'HI' ;)

Re: Introducing two new miniature drivers for portable lasers + Kenom Fundraiser!

Lol, yes at first I thought the driver came with a friendly greeting from it's creator.
