Basically, sanyos won't choke themselves off, while apparently these cells increase their internal resistance when you try to pull more current.

and yes, these give you extra capacity, but at the cost of having no protection circuits that match them yet. i.e. you better be watching your voltages...

Protection circuit design is done and it is in production right now.

Bare cells will not be overcharged at 4.25V, nor over discharged at 2.1V

Short obviously cannot do anything to bare cells.

Bare cells can handle almost anything you "throw" on them.

Most importantly - very safe to work with.

IMRs at Bestinone.net 2 cell for the price of one AW. The also seem to have sizes I'm not seeing at lighthound.com like IMR26650.

If your looking for 18650 tho I would just go for one of the better Lico. Pretty high discharge & more capacity then LiMN / IMR.

These may appear to be ~half the price (of Lighthound) but I got my AW IMR16340's in the mail today from Lighthound

Lighthounds ($6.99 ea) cells are 550mAh while bestinone lists them at 350mAh.

OK, I have noticed another About Us on the left panel that DOES goto a frame that apears to be empty, yet if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page it states
they are from China along with something about how if you order over 200$ worth of stuff how you get some types of shipping..


Lighthound is in Texas and I got my stuff probably 3 days later.

3) Has anyone dealt with this bestinone company before?

I will only say this:
in order to understand how new technology works you have to do some research, and you have to pass year 2007. I did my on time.

Foulmist, That seller is selling Samsung cells that are made in 2007 , and have nothing to do with new patented by Panasonic technology.

the Samsung 3000 mah cells I sell, are brand new 2011 stock.

The Samsung 3000 mah cells do have the "safety functional layer" being discussed in this thread.

It does work by limiting the current when it is heated to high temperatures.

When a cell is shorted, it heats up quickly and "folds back" the current to a factory-designed level.

This prevents the cell from overheating and venting.

Nobody is saying anything about your stock , and when your latest batch is produced. As I said this cell has nothing to do with Samsung.

But when you are already here -

Samsung cell that you are selling is designed in 2007, and that was what I am trying to say.

So Samsung cannot be compared to this Panasonic NCR18650A cell - until Samsung come up with new internal design.


I thought that "relatively cold" Panasonic cell during direct short is already discussed , and conclusion has been made.

Samsung cell wasn't discussed in this thread.

It was discussion about video- Panasonic cell staying relatively cold even when shorted.

Video with Panasonic NCR18650A 3100mAh was posted showing that direct short cannot do anything to this bare cell, and discussion started from there...
