I would like to remind people here that not everyone is using a desktop or laptop windows computer. Many here are using a netbook or tablet or smartphone and don't see things the same as you. When you post a huge gigantic photo it can make the thread useless to some people, especially tablet users. To often I click on a thread and see something like this. Please be considerate of others and resize your photos down to 800x600 or you can easily make a thread completely useless to some people here. This thread was fixed but I have been seeing this from time to time and not reading or posting in some threads I may have otherwise.

Great reminder. I often browse the forum on my phone when I have down time at work and it can surely be a pain when a monster image shows up.

It would be nice if this website had a tool that could automatically resize the files uploaded directly. Smart phones are getting more and more capable of taking large pictures of very high quality. I use one for all my internet now. Lately I been having to use photo bucket

Sorry about that. I switched off the auto resize function by accident. (Posted the original photo instead)

I have a program I use thats simply caIled "image resizer." Drag the pics into the program to open and resize them all at onceI. Saves time uploading as well. Ill link it here when I get to my computer.

I just use tinypic and they have an image resize drop down with a specific "message board" option

Those oversized pictures are a pain even with a large desktop monitor. If I resize the browser to show the whole picture then the text is too small to read easily.

Ok people need to be reminded about image size, this happens way too often, a few others have posted about this before, and one person complains about it frequently and rightly so. Do some people really want to make a thread useless and unreadable to many of the people viewing this forum? There really needs to be a rule enforcement on image size, the people that do this need to be treated like spammers and have their posts deleted or maybe we should start negreping them when they do this. We need to keep the width down to 800 to keep everyone happy, I can live with it a little larger but not too much, I think it would be nice to keep everything viewable by everyone, and there are more and more people now using tablets so please keep that in mind. I just now looked at this now useless thread and here is what I get: http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/445-vs-450nm-94947.html

Guilty :/ Ill be more careful of it next time around.
Not sure if vbulitin supports automatic image re-sizing but xenfro and phpp do either natively or with plugins. Im sure the admins can do something about it under ACP.

How about you do something about it and delete your photo and post one of proper size? Do you expect others to do your work for you? Try using photobucket like I and many here do, they give you more than enough space for free, and make it easy to edit or resize your photos. Or use another image hosting site that allows you to resize, or use software on your computer or tablet to resize before uploading, it's not difficult to do.

Im not saying that others should do my work for me, this would be a good way to enforce smaller image sizes. I have already re-sized my picture in that thread to a more appropriate size as soon as I saw this thread.

I made simple php auto resize function time ago and easy to implement. There are a lot of scripts that can be easily added to laserpointerforums even in Javascript

Sort of on a similar line does anyone know how to make my phone automatically always request a sites desktop site? Galaxy Note 4. I personally can't stand most sites including this one in mobile mode.

I've got the same problem with my phone, I need to request a desktop site everytime. I set my tablet once, and it stays on, no problems; both devices are using chrome.
Let us know if you get the problem fixed. I don't care for most mobile sites either.
