I finsihed my laser: but theres a problem

I really liked your video. Your problem was very thoroughly explained although I will have to side with the other members on this one. It looks like the diode is LED'd. Look at it this way.. LEARNING EXPERIENCE! and a PHR is only about $8. Much better than replacing a GGW or BRD! Don't be discouraged with this possible minor set back. I hope this has not "left a bad taste in your mouth" towards blurays or lasers in general.

-Mike

Edit: Please buy some safety glasses!! In one of your videos you can see the beam reflecting off the camera or comp screen on the wall behind you! Your eyes will not be so forgiving X_X.

Thank you all for the helpful responses.I am now saving up for safety glasses, and I am sneding the laser out for repair.

one last bit of input momo. in the video, several times you adjust the lens and say you are putting it to infinity. you can't do that with the laser off. unless you set it with the laser on and then marked the module and the focusing ring.

good luck
michael

heres your problem...

you bridged the + contact on the batt side with the resistor next to it...

hey momo, in the future get yourself a pair of "helping hands". but make sure to get one with a magnifying glass on it. also get a super fine tip for your soldering iron.
