On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best...how would you rate Windows 7?

Interface: 8
Speed: 6 (about the same as Vista)
User friendly: 9
Visuals: 6 (There are free OS's available that look cooler)
Drivers: 7 (I can't find a driver for my TV tuner)
Areo: 10 (I like what they have done with it)
Available software: 10

Overall: 8 (It's much better than Vista...but it's still lacking the speed XP had)

For me there's not a real speed improvement but I know my 8GB of RAM don't allow anything to go slow anyway xD

I miss the sidebar, I know have to use aero peek to see the internet trafic and so. A part from that, I mainly like it. A 8 for it.

10/10 compared to any other OS I have used!

list:

window 3.11
mac 8.1
windows NT
windows ME
windows 95
windows 2000
windows xp home
windows xp pro
windows vista home premium
windows vista business
Windows 7 ultimate

Do the people who vote 1 know anything at all about computers?
I find this rather funny

I have an ATI tv Wonder 650 pro and I still can't get the thing to work.

Not a speed improvement at all in comparison to Vista. XP is still blazingly fast in comparison.

Q6600 Core2quad @ 3.0ghz
4 gig ddr3

the funny thing about 7 is that its gonna end up fading out just like vista... 7 was only a stepping stone for windows 8 which theyre already developing...

I don't know what kind of computers you guys are using, but windows 7 is so much lighter and faster than both vista and XP, especially if you're using the 64 bit version. I'm sure Matrixcs will chime in on this.

You can use desktop gadgets in Win7 the same way as sidebar (if not better).

The thing I liked the most with Win7 was the fact that it needed less configuration than Vista. It really is better for note/netbooks. Networks work wonderfully on it.

Interface: 8
Speed: 8 (starts up & shuts down very fast)
User friendly: 9
Visuals: 8
Drivers: 7
Areo: 8 (Some features are nasty, but cool overall)
Available software: 6 (Some of my favourite games and software doesn't work, at least at the 64bit version :( )

After a pair of days of trials with non-standard and non-M$-approved (that basically means only that program maker have not paid M$ for have his program in the approved list :p) programs and devices, i can rate vienna OS as following:

Graphical interface "substance": 1 (same crap of vista, no improvements at all)
Graphical interface "appearence": 3 (good for peoples that care only about visual effects of an OS, but not about substance)
OS speed: 1 (same resource-eater as vista, no significative improvements)
Programs speed (approved): 4 (XP was 7, in my classification, judge yourself)
Programs speed (not approved): 2 (someway intentional, nuff said :p)
User-friendly: 0 (no way for do all that what you want in simple and easy ways)
Drivers and hardware compatibility: 5 (still fails in detect half of the current in-use hardware, sometimes just don't see it)
Aero: 0 (same unhelpful resource-eater, who really needs it ?)
Available software: 2 (only "approved" (see above :p) software available almost without (evident) problems)
Software compatibility: 2 (as M$ usual abitudes)
Backward compatibility: 1 (worse than usual)
Personal feeling: -1 (Personal feeling is the more important thing, cause after all, you have to like it or not, working with it ..... and yes, is not a typo, the personal feeling i have with it is negative ..... in poor words, til it remain in these conditions, i don't want it also gifted, figure you how much i want it paying for :p)

Ofcourse, this is a personal evaluation that don't have to influence other peoples ..... just you asked for it, and i replied, no offense intended at all ;)

I am using the 64bit version for all 3 systems and xp blows windows 7 out of the water...hands down..for speed

How do you make the windows to adjust to the screen without going above the gadgets? I didn't say I couldn't install gadgets, I said I now have to look at the desktop every time I need to see them!

Interface: 10, I simply LOVE THE NEW TASKBAR. BRAVO.
Speed: 9 As fast, if not faster, than my XP
User friendly: 10, VERY. Even my parents (hitting 60 soon, don't let them know I told ya! They'd ship me back to their place and lock me up in their dungeon!) can use it without trouble.
Visuals: 10, Beautiful, fast, and I've already made my modifications.
Drivers: 9, Can't find a proper tarantula adapter
Areo: 9, simply awesome. I've had the effects crash a few times though. Thankfully it's an EASY fix.
Available software: 10, everything works.

That's basically it.
