How to set the Flex Drive's Current.

Correct, Bluefan was incorrect. Are you using a dummy load? They are necessary for presetting this driver, without one it can cause problems.

Yes, using Dummy load. Built to spec found on forum for dummy red or blue dummy load. Any ideas?

I am using one of Rkcstr's dummy loads. I'll have some macro pictures uploaded momentarily. And Thanks for helping, please know that it is appreciated.

Here's a shot of the back, the front will follow shortly, I've got to take a new one with better lighting. I want to get 450mA for a Red build so I've bridged all 3 resistors for the 155mA-600mA range.

I cannot see any problems with it. What is the power source (and voltage) you are using during your current test?

Peace,
dave

THANK YOU DAVE !!I was using the same tired old 9v battery I always use. I changed for 4 new "AA"s and zippo, nothing wrong with the driver at all. And I thought that I was getting pretty good at this stuff - I'm damn glad that you are around. Thanks again!!

You're welcome. I've found that sometimes the power source will have enough voltage to stay above the "cut-off" voltage, but not enough available current to drive the flexdrive enough.

I am not educated in electronics enough to know why, but sometimes (especially at the new higher voltages and currents of the 8X and 12X) I get very different current outputs from the flexdrive when my PSU is set at 3V and when it is set at 4.5V.

Peace,
dave

Thanks to all who are adding to this thread- great photos help a lot. Hoping DrLave has some more V5s soon.==HZ
