How much have you spent on lasers?

oh poo i hit the wrong button, i see its on $ not £ LOL

my projector alone cost me £4000

Hmm, let's see:
DX30: $24
Blu-ray diode+Flexdrive: $58
EDIT: $5 for the LPF raffle ticket ;D
That's it! :D
So a grand huge total of 77 dollars!!!!!OMG!!!!

Lol, yea , I'm pretty cheap. :P
And it's almost one year since I built the first red DIY (which was free), that marks the beggining of my laser enthusiasm.(somewhere september-october).My forum birthday is in december, sadly.

Oh btw Razako, why'd you change your name and avatar and sig and everything?I couldn't tell it was you if not for the "sed 500mw herc with lasercheck and other accessories: $2500" ;D

Well I guess galvo's would count as a "laser" product, as without them you wouldnt have laser shows  :P

But uhh yeah, Ive gone through about...: 2 x DX 20's, 1 x DX 30, 3 cores, 6 or so DVD red diodes, green module, 2 blu-rays, 10mw green module, spirograph thingy, a few IR diodes. All of which are dead. All I have in my possesion now is a >100mw CNI labby scanner, a 10mw green module, a BR that seems to be getting duller and duller, and a spirograph. The 40mw green module.. well, I killed the cmount diode in it. It is easily repairable.. Once i can get a c-mount diode that wil suit lol.

Oh man, soo much monies >.<

ok I now have a new HERO ;D lol

I just happened to have made a calculation for myself, collected all receipts and dug through all paypal and bank history. My feeling said I had spent something like $400 on lasers (including a $170 power meter). The calculation came at a boggling $ 1130. Whoops, it's true what they say, this hobby does burn a hole in your wallet.

My hobby officially started at may 26th this year (although I have dissected and autopsied several $2 5mW pointers in the past and always admired lasers ever since.

Yea, your stuck in the hobby now!

Though I have moved from pointers to modules and scanners, I like to keep my stuff atleast semi-legal ::) ;D

Good Gosh!

If I ever kept track of how much money I spent on my hobbies, I'd sit in my room crying in the dark.

Luckily for me, most of my hobbies help pay for themselves ;)

Peace,
dave

Your that:
Greater than $10,000 US
1 (1.5%)
Aren't you?

LoL, [smiley=beer.gif]

Erm, I would also vote in the "Too much" category if it were there... I would say that I spent around $1050 on lasers since the beginning.. But I'm trying to reverse that now  ::)
Trust me.. It adds up!

I would have to say, since July 2007, I have spent somewhere between $5000 - $6000 on lasers and their accessories.

My friend got me to get a Silverfish account, which is a long boarding forum. He got me started a little while ago, but I'm not that great. Definitely better at making lasers ;D. Anyways, there was some thread somewhere on how to justify the amount of money you spend on skate stuff. I thought you could apply this to lasers as well (although it looks like some of you are spending a lot of money on lasers lol). Maybe someone can edit this to be all hobby's and not sports.

why do you have to justify what you spend your money on? its pretty much the cheapest sport hobby out there:

Road bike: 7k
mountain bike: 5k
tuner cars etc. 20k+
musical stuff... 2k-200k
heroin: all your money.
snowsports 100 dollars+ a day....
