Holy @#$%... $100 488nm diode!!

It is one of mine as well. 490,500,555,580,610 are my desired wavelengths for the next 10 years. But the day where we have true multichromatic lasers. Imagine cycling through the whole visible spectrum, possibly smart phone controlled ;)
We can only dream. :D

Stahhhhp... You're making me drool at the thought of this:drool:

Not just adjustable wavelengths but adjustable power levels too:D:D

Imagine having at the very least 405, 445, 470, 488, 520, 532, 589, 610, and 638. All of them able to run up to 5W or more.

Gotta stop dreaming here before I drive myself insane:p

Lasers of the future!
Yes, lets focus on the 488's first :D or if you really want to look up super continuum lasers.

561 is nice but my 611.8 hene blows it away.

I refuse to believe that it's impossible to implement solid-state dye into a handheld.

Once someone figures out how, we will have essentially unlocked the entire visible spectrum. And who knows, if someone could implement more than one SS-dye laser into a handheld, you could theoretically have a laser that is tunable to every wavelength in the visible spectrum, though it would technically be multiple separate lasers. :p

It would still be the holy grail for WL collectors.

That would be amazing. All the lasers you've ever wanted in one. :)

What I have I done to this thread. Sorry, we should get back onto 488's ...for now. :D

It seems that Jordan will be getting the diodes today. Let's hope they turn out to be real. :D

The diodes have been delivered. I await the testing! Any preliminary observations J?

If these do turn out to be legitimate 488nm diodes that may lead the way to affordable 488nm diodes in the future, and in turn, another wavelength for us! :)

Is DTR gonna have the available for purchase today or tomorrow or soon? Idk how many times I can hit F5 before the key falls off
