Hi laserfriends, I broke my foot.

Happy that everything went well blord! I hope you fully recover and it is good to hear that they did everything so fast to you!

My case was different i had a A/C luxation in my right shoulder, grade three. Went to the hospital. They said it was better to not have an operation. I did not buy it since the bone was sticking out. Few days later i went to a specialist in another hospital. He also said that it was better not to do an operation. I was happy and convinced an operation would not be neccesairy. One week later i went back to the first hospital to check how everything went. The doktor wanted to do an operation in two days. Very confusing but i chose to follow the specialist and i have belief in my body healing on its own. I am also fairly young so. Untill now it is healing great although it was quite frustrating to only be able to sleep on your back.

Sorry for the slight offtopic but i wanted to share my thoughts and experience with hospitals :)

Thanks!

EDIT:

It is really weird that the screws used in blord's leg are really look allot like the one i use in a wooden shelf only they are titanium en cost allot more :p

Man is it good to have this technique's available to us.

There is fifth screw in the bone but it can't be taken out anymore. It was put between the two fractured pieces and the bone has completed healed. And thus sealing off the screw.
Unless the surgeon cuts open the bone to take out the metal but that would defeat the purpose of the healing. :p

I suppose it is titanium because other metals will oxide in the body. Unless it was made of gold. :D

Ouch, hope it heals quickly for you. Sorry to hear that

Should force you to relax a little though

Hey Blord,
Good to hear things are healing well and you're recovering..

Still have full range of motion ?

Mine still makes a fun "Click Click Click" when I rotate it ..

OH NO! I hope you get to feeling better and heal soon! Sorry about the foot, but I'm glad it wasn't worse... those falls on ice can be nasty.

Take it easy and rest up...

You could always make a video of you burning "Blord" into your cast with a laser. :)

cheers, friend...

That is nasty. I hope my foot gets 100% mobility back.

Did you get to keep the titanium brace? Glad its all healing!

I asked the surgeon to keep the brace as souvenir. He smiles with an evil grin. Next thing I woke up with my testicles in a jar.
j/k He kept the stuff. :D

Just got to this thread. Glad to hear you healed up quickly. I broke my foot, 2nd & 3rd metatarsels & fractured the 1st, back in Nov. It still swells and hurts. Hope you have a better go of it.do the Physical therapy, keep it working as much as you can. Letting it just hang there will make it worse. I have SS screws & plate. I think it's causing some of the problems, but doc won't take it out until 1 year later.
But hey, you don't have to stand all the time just to run a lathe so get it crunk.:D Just Kidding, take it slow.

Yea, I believe it is better to remove the metal plate after the bone structure has been healed.
Leaving it could cause physical strain and psychological stress. You are thinking the pain is cause by the body alien objects.

Today my local doctor has removed the stitches from the last operation. It was pretty difficult because the surgeon has use the vertical mattress sutures ( interupted ) stitch which is quite difficult to remove. But the doctor managed the removal. I have tried DIY first at home but that was a bridge too far. :p

Well, the foot still swells and it is difficult to squat or go up stairs. One PT guy said it might be "planters foot", a thing athletes get from injuries to their feet. I can't believe you got you hardware out that quickly. Was it a complete break or a fracture?
