Hey I have purchased from what I can tell is all the products I need to create a 100mw green laser and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how the momentary button on the back of it is supposed to activate the module?
Everything else I vaguely understand however I would appreciate a touch up on my knowledge :)

What host are you putting the module in? Do you have a heatsink for the host?
If your host is a flashlight with a tail clicky then just bypass the momentary button on the driver board by soldering a wire across the button.

Be sure to use the search bar :beer:
 
Ok yes your host has a tail clicky.
Just bypass the momentary button on the driver.
The battery negative goes towards the laser module and the positive goes towards the tail cap.

So to bypass the switch I solder a wire to the two points twice?
(As its a 4 pin switch)
And then basically it all slots in together?

No, 2 pins are common on each side of the button.

So you could go from one pin towards the tail to one pin towards the head of the module.
You could also visually verify by following the traces on the driver board.
 
Now how will i go about putting all this together? will the module slot into the housing easily and firmly or will it require some sort of gluing or somthing? Is there anything i should know to prepare for this?
 
Good luck on that build. I can't believe what you poor Australians have to pay for diodes! I just picked up that >50mw 532nm from Fasttech for just $10 US!

It looks like you're on the right track and have such nice members willing to help you.

How will i go about doing that with the 4 pins of the diode i purchased? Edit: I'm going to assume i would just do the exact same thing for the other two pins?

Thanks! i intend to create a walk through of what Ive done and create some more high powered ones later on, just sucks that the australian government hates lasers so much. It does help to have a forum of such helpfull people though :yh:

The person I'm buying the housing and module off has offered to mount the module inside the hosting for me for free, will this be confiscated by Australian customs?
 
Windsor ay? it probably wont be confiscated, is he sending it with batteries and claiming it as a laser on the package?
 
No it's just the module in the housing, no batteries or anything.
I believe he will be marking it as torch equipment or something along the lines of that.
