today i went to my grandparents house cause i hadnt seen them in a couple of weeks, and i brought my 20omw red dilda, my 30mw keychain ledshoppe green, and my 50mw pen stily ledshoppe green.

anyways my grandfather who is 82, and lets just say not in the best of conditions saw the keychain one and was playing with it. so i told him to keep it and he refused to take it without giving me money, so i just told him it was 5 bucks. he went back in the bedroom to lie down, and for the next 2 hours, all i saw was green flashes coming from the room.

i can honestly say i have never seen him this happy in the past 5 years.

he was born in 1925, and was in world war II, so he has pretty much literally seen it all, and since i could remember, i never saw him this fascinated with anything.

made me happy. that is all. waiting for someone to post the cool story bro pic.

Even old people like new toys. Glad he enjoys it.
Hope you told him to be careful with it.

Thanks for the sharing the story. Brought a smile to my face. I think I am going to have to try it with my grandfather, who knows.

The older bunch either love lasers... or really hate them.

Not to thread jack, but....................................in the name of personal value of lasers.

This reminds me of a question I was going to ask:

If Tom Hanks in the movie Castaway had a 200mW greenie in the scene where he spotted that ship while peeing in the ocean do you think that would have made a difference in a rescue?

Great story! I'll have to try this with my grandfather, he loves gadgets and I'm sure he'll have a similar reaction.

Nice to know it makes him happy :)

If he's relatively computer literate you could point him over to this forum, I'm sure it must get boring doing nothing all day, and reading up on info if he's interested in lasers might be fun for him :)

He could also start building and getting into lasers =]
