Goodbye to all. It was nice meeting everyone!

Men can easily fall into "control freak" mode. My brothers are both like that. I live my life by certain rules to protect from becoming one my self. Sadly once they get that hard core there is nothing much you can do. Your dad will always look at you like a kid, its what parents do. It makes him mad that you dont fit into what kind of person "he" thinks you should be, instead of accepting the person you are. We all have faults, and I'm sure he has his. On the flip side you're 22, live at home, and dont have a car. You're wasting your time, and I'm sure it pisses your dad off. So he has points too.

The only way, IMO, for you to keep a relationship with your dad is to get your own place. The fact that you have to pay your own bills will help with accepting some responsibility, and your dad having to do all the chores will give him a better appreciation of what you do around his house.

Yeah my friend, I think you need to leave honestly. Keep your job bud and keep facing forward. the biggest kick in the teeth you could do to that man would be to show him you don't need him and he can do his own crap.

It sounds like he wanted this and was egging you on to snap.

I know exactly how you feel, I have gone through a few similar experiences my self.

When you live on your own for awhile I'm sure you'll get used to shutting off lights and when you start having women come over you'll clean your area more ( unless there nasty to then you'll just both get worse...) :D

No way Jeff ! It is not allowed to leave LPF once you signed in. Anyway, i think you can be optimistic as long you have a job where you earn money. This is giving you a good chance to get flat. Please dont overreact, calm down, drink a camomile tea. Take a piece of Paper and write down the positive and negative things you have. After a nap you compare what you wrote down and i'm sure positive will win. Keep in mind, positive things always count twice ;)

Good on ya mate !

On one hand your Dad sounds like an overly aggressive control freak. On the other hand your 22 with a job, but no car and unable to get a place to stay. Try living with your friend or worst case scenario buying some old van to sleep in like TJ said.

Well just today I stopped at my house to collect some of my things and I decided before I would try and take everything I would talk to my dad again. Long story short we made up but the paperwork still exists. I managed to find out that the paper "is" legal though if I should fight it the court marshal would send out another one for 30 days... after that should I fight it and lose then I would be escorted out and have 45 days to collect my things. I'm still currently at my friends house and I will be here for some time... The reason is because he is my ride to work and its actually easier now that he doesn't have to pick me up at my house. Imy dad isn't a thief and I can be 100% certain on this. So everything is ok unless my dad decides he wants to finish what was started... Just thought I'd give an update so many of you are not worried. I'm super glad I can stay here! Since this seems to be over for now I will be showing my grattitude In the future :) I plan to sell some "things" for cheaper than anyone on the forums. This should keep everyone's eyes open and these "things" will remain unknown until I decide its time to reveal them.

Thanks,
Jeff

That's good news Jeff... It can only get Better...
It's one day at time....;)

Nice to see you and your dad made up..... dont worry all parents are like that, but eventually you and them will feel sorry for each other when something goes wrong :)

have a good week

Maybe it's a good time to move out and find a place for yourself. At least now the pressure is less you can consider it.

yep, it always gets better. i remember after a drunken night i ended up in jail. i was just barely drunk so time went by soooo slow. but after a few hours i told my self.. "michael, there is no where to go but UP!!!"

Sorry to hear about all this Jeff. DONT GIVE UP! Maybe you can talk to your Dad and straighten things out,he is your Dad deep inside he still loves you,he just probably had a momentary lapse in judgement like we all do. Ive been without car, job, or a place to live in 1985 . It all happened in 1 week, but things came together and they will for you too. Peace, Jim.
