It's probably the heating element.... or the cable going through the
end of the Iron handle... That's where our break...
Those are great Irons....
If it wasn't for the $30.00 shipping... I'd snap it up...

It says that the iron is broken, doesn't heat up.

Kind of ironic. I walked by one of those at a flea market, but thought it was so old it was pretty much useless.

WELLER WTCPT SOLDERING STATION W/ TC201T PENCIL IRON - eBay (item 370387624688 end time Jun-03-10 10:25:03 PDT)
Folks I plan to order this:
AOYUE 936 Anti-static Soldering Station soldering tool - eBay (item 160328063832 end time Jun-07-10 04:29:26 PDT)

With TLB tip, total $81 shipped to Croatia.

Anybody has something to say about this model, from experience?
aXit from IRC told me it's great, I'd like to hear more opinions also.

That model is good and has a large selection of tips, for every use.
There are many models based off that one and even the off brands seem to be great.
If you look down on the page you will see a digital one its kinda nice.

If someone wants one of these-- Mine has only been heated to coat the tip and test.

Works sorta OK if you are not in a hurry.

For $20 plus actual ship cost + PP fee you can have mine--NIB- I found a used Hakko so I don't need the Veller. pm me---hak

It looks great and prices are great too, however, isn't that CSI like copy of Hakko/Aoyue ?

I'd hate to get something with compomised quality.

Aoyue is not exactly the top either, but nobody said anything bad about it still.

Dillemmas...

Yes it is a copy, That does not mean its lower quality, i have googled that iron and found tons of people who love it, the only thing they say is,
1 do not leave it on over night it will eat your tip.
2 If you use high heat the tip will go bad faster
3 If you use a wire brush to clean it the tip will only last about 4-6 months.
But i think that is normal for almost every iron.

Great. More dilemmas. :D

What would you do in my position?

Which one would you get?
Considering I'm in Croatia.

Aoyue I've linked is $81, shipped.

This new site where they have CSIs is in Europe, hence it'll arrive very fast.

However, what are their shipping prices, and quality and what else...
Ahhh
Aoyue:undecided:CSI

What to buy?

Damn it.
I know that whatever I buy, I'll be happy.
I know they are almost the same.

I know there will always be "What if I've chosen the other one" question.
