Well I did stumble accross some very small TEC's to add to my treasure! I have 5 - 8mm x 12mm and a couple 15x20mm recieved some quotes on smaller but havent got into them yet... got 4 20x20mm and some 25mmx25mm at auction for less than .07c each.. lol

anyway off to work...

What's your source for the 8mm x 12mm? or anything else with a diagonal under 17mm...

was a guy off ebay

I talked to him and asked him a price for something smaller he replied

I baught a couple of his 15mmx20mm and won 4 others for under 7c each..


I ended up finding these for 25$ Marlow Industries TEC Peltier Cooler 8mx12mm, Gold plated. Lot of 5. This is a lot of five (5) of TEC Peltier coolers from Marlow Industries, model number SP5469-06AC. It is gold-plated on both sides for soldering to contact surfaces. The size is about 8mm x 12mm. Brand new and guaranteed to work.

There are 8 x 8mm tecs for 6$ ;)

That's interesting I must say ;)

I think I will try adding TEC cooling in a portable build one day :D

I have just been trying to hash that all out... these small TEC's cant take the V or current the batteries are puting out I have been reading.. So we are going to have to regulate that somehow and then there is the part of building a fan in too or having enough heat disapation in a heatsink without a fan and I am betting that that would mean a larger fin area that will take all the heat in... There is allway's the thing that if it's not producing alot of cold then it's not producing alot of heat either but we definately have to get the heat that is produced out of the host otherweise the host will just heat up very quickly...

On a different topic Why dont you sell the H1600's any more Jordan there are more in a box and they out perform the others in the 5.6mm size... I pulled the last one I baught out of a drawer and tested it out today on the DIY 17mm round buckboost today it's doing 2.1-2.2W at 1800-2000ma the 9mm is 2.3W on the same setting and battery and lens.. I know they wont come close to the 9mm's output but for the price there great..

I have a linear driver that can run a 0.8V TEC off a Li-ion no problem... No one uses them for lasers for some reason so maybe they will be good for the TEC's :D it's maxes at 1.2Amps & there is a POT :)

I dont think you will be disapointed.. it's a super brite red... bad divergence but even corected it still very powerfull.. I am going to try to build a combined beam out of a couple..

Sorry guys but I haven't been keeping up with the progress of this GB, can someone tell me if the diodes have shipped out to us yet?

@kiz I won't be for sure, I'm very happy with the brightness my 330mW 638nm puts out, 1W will just be insane
