Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

Okay. I'm might actually get two pairs. Here's my first choice. YG3 style 34. Now I just need to decide on some for the visible spectrum.

I just got to thinking. I might not be home depending on when the GB is finished.

When would you know if you're home or not?

plus you could always pay early if you have the funds and then you don't have to worry about getting in on it.

Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

Hmm... my YLW goggles say they have 73% VLT on the front, not the 50% cited on OEM.

Maybe some of the data on the site hasn't been updated?
I know the DBD goggles have CE certifications pending... they may already be done?

Makes sense... They block out a lot less of the spectrum than ARG goggles and those are 48% VLT

Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

hmmm very interesting...

That would definitely make a big difference and explain the difference in prices as well.

Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

Yeah the ARG graph is different now too. They used to be ~2 OD around the 445nm marker, but now they seem consistent across the board.

Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

Does anyone know much or have used the ELX - YAG $140 goggles? They appear to have really decent near-full spectrum protection. I know VLT is only 7%, but... full spectrum protection?

Has anyone used these?

Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

i'd be in for a pair if we can get the 25% off.

I'm pretty sure we're getting 25... I almost just want to wait until we do, but... it depends on how many sign up now. If I add you to the list, we're one closer!

feel free to add me to the list, im not sure which pair i will get yet, but i do need a pair so go for it :)

Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

There are lots of knowledgeable guys on here that can help out.
Which lasers are you wanting these goggles for?
I stumbled across the "ELX" goggles (see a couple posts above) that cover just about everything you need. Red protection was 1.5-2 OD I think, but if you're just using dvd burner diodes, that should be enough.

Re: GB oemlasersystems goggles

RIGHT! VLT is terrible on the ELX but... it covers just about everything. Graph shows 7+OD up to 532nm but specs say 5+... The ML7 doesn't cover 445nm which seems to be a popular build. But that's why I'm getting the DBD (The big brother to the DI3 and DBY) they cover everything but red... which I have some cheap goggles for my measly 350mw 650nm
